  • What sections are good for staying out of the sun at Soldier Field?

    Asked June 16, 2016

For the best shade at Soldier Field you will want to look in the Media Deck sections along the west sideline (Sections 230 through 244). These seats have excellent overhead coverage and some of the best protection from the weather at Solider Field.Endzone sections will see little in terms of relief from the sun during a midday game, so I would recommend looking elsewhere. If Media Deck seats are not an option, other good alternatives can be found in the back rows of Sections 105 through 113, where you will also find good overhead coverage.Covered seats found at the back rows of the east sideline sections provide very good protection from the weather. At the far sideline, you can also see the smaller Media Deck - which is almost entirely covered by the upper seating tier above and provides some of the very best relief from the weather....More

  • In the 200 sections of the United Club, what rows get blocked by the overhang?

    Asked September 1, 2017

The 200 level sections on the east side of Solider Field are part of the United Club. Given their amenities and benefits, these are among the most desirable - and expensive - tickets for a Bears game. These seats are especially attractive when the weather is unideal. The cover afforded to the back rows of these sections keeps them dry, out of the sun and less windy than other areas. Unfortunately, the same overhang that creates cover also creates challenges when it comes to seeing the field and the videoboards.

Shaded and Covered Seating at Soldier Field (7)

For the clearest view of the field and videoboards, we recommend sitting in row 15 or below. The rows above these sections have a chopped-off view of the videoboards (or none at all), and a tunnel-vision view of the field.

Shaded and Covered Seating at Soldier Field (8)

For fans who want the best view in these sections, consider a seat in rows 1-9. Nowhere else in football can you find elevated seats like these so close to the field. To be fully protected from the elements and to be close to the climate-controlled United Club, sit in rows 16 and above. And for the best of both worlds, consider purchasing tickets in rows 10-15.

  • Do seats in Section 132, Row 14 at Soldier Field have any type of roof over them?

    Asked August 29, 2014

Covered seating on the west side of Soldier Field is found exclusively in the 200 levelThe 100 level sideline sections on the west side of the stadium (Sections 130 through 146) do not have any overhead coverage. The best options in covered seating will be found in any row of the 200 level sections on the west side of the stadium (Sections 233 to 242), or in Rows 12 and higher in the 100 level sections on the east side of the stadium (Sections 105 to 113)....More

  • Which seats are covered?

    Asked March 1, 2019

Covered seats at Soldier Field are few and far between, but not impossible to find. The 200 level on the West side of the stadium are the best bet for finding covered seats since almost all sections are located below the 300 level overhang. All rows in sections 232-242 will be covered and rows 8 or higher in sections 230, 231, 243, and 244 will be safe from any bad weather as well. After that, look to the back rows in the 100 and 200 levels on the East side of the stadium. For the 100 level, rows 12 or higher will be protected in sections 104-114. For the 200 level, the overhang reaches to row 14 in sections 204-214....More

"Bring oxygen and be prepared to climb" -

    Section 435, Row 24, Seats 18-19

Enjoyed the game immensely and the view was very good, right on the 20 yard line, but these seats are very high up. The steps are steep and a bit of a chore to climb if you're not in great shape. Was winded when I got there. These seats are almost on the aisle (seat 21 is the end of the aisle), so entering where it says Section 434 actually makes more sense. If you enter where it says 435 you have to climb over 17 people. Odd they would sign it that way in the concourse. I also thought it strange that the sections go up in number in a clockwise direction, but the seat numbers themselves go up in a counter-clockwise direction.

You've also got quite a long walk to and from the washrooms from this high up, 3 separate sets of stairs to go down to get there. Hard to figure how they could put all the washrooms below the 300 level and make everyone walk down that far. Massive crowd in the concourse lined up to go to the washroom before halftime even started.

Game was a good experience, food was very good. Tickets were very expensive for what they were, but the entire stadium is on the very expensive side compared to other NFL stadiums I have been to (Pittsburgh, Detroit, Miami).

"Cool Seats on a Hot Day" -

    Section 230, Row 10

It's rare that we get mid-90s in late September in Chicago, but that's what we were facing this afternoon. Fortunately, the Media Deck provides ample shade which kept us cool throughout the game.

The Bears scored the winning touchdown in this direction of the field - and we had a great view of that play. When the action moved toward the other goal line it did get a bit difficult to see.

Food and restroom options just a few rows up on the concourse was nice.

I'd prefer to sit closer to midfield, but on a hot or rainy day these certainly do the trick.

    "LOUD and DRY" -

    Section 241, Row 5, Seats 9,10,11,12

As others have said the sight lines are very good. One is also protected from the elements. However, the 2 Jumbo-Tron scoreboards are obscured by the upper deck. In addition, the acoustics are a problem because of the low ceiling from the upper deck. In a word - "LOUD". The media deck elevator was for Media Member Use Only, but not too many stairs.

    I wouldn't do this again.

    Section 103, Row 16, Seats 1-4

There aren't many covered seats in the 100 level at Soldier Field, but these are some of them. It makes it great to protect you from all Chicago elements.

They are located near the North end zone, so anything on the South side is harder to see. Luckily there are TVs directly above on the overhang to help catch any small details.

    Overall, great seats!

    "Underneath the Overhang" -

    Section 216, Row 19

Amenities with club tickets are good (indoor lounge access, etc.), but these are probably the worst club seats for watching the game. Last row in the last section. Have to turn your body to see the field. Forget about seeing the videoboard.

On the plus side, don't have to walk any stairs to get to this higher row.
