Played this course today and it was in very good shape! Greens are perfect as well as the fairways! Price with cart good for what you get! Nice area! Restaurant was ok, smelled a little in the pro shop next to the restaurant!

Marc B — Google review

What a beautiful course! Just minutes from ocean in a quaint little community. Pro shop staff were great and the restaurant bar was on point. Good service and a good time! Aerial was our bartender on the restaurant deck and she was wonderful!

Christopher V — Google review

Incredible course. Def my fav in the area. I will put this up w pasatiempo and the less expensive Monterrey but still great courses like bayonet or black horse. I had such a good time.

Sam B — Google review

Greens are in good condition. Course is in great shape all around. Challenging but fun.

Carlos D — Google review

The front nine is very good and challenging. The back nine is shorter and easier. The dunes are a significant part of the layout. There are quite many water hazards. The greens were excellent. The staff was friendly.

Kari K — Google review

Best Golf Club on the Central Coast !!Greens are phenomenal. Super fast and professionally sound. Both Old course and Challenge course are great . Been coming here since it opened. Kudos to the entire Monarch Dunes Staff for maintaining such a beautiful place to Golf.

ManVs F — Google review

Great golf course! Played today 2/19/21 Greens were running 9.5, little bumpy but rolled pretty well. Bunkers were great! Tee boxes and fairways were excellent!! Course was tight and challenging. Great place to play if you like a tough track 👍👍 staff was excellent 🙂

Eric Z — Google review

What an amazing place to visit whether you are visiting the area or a native. I love it here! So peaceful, clean, and lots of gorgeous tall standing trees. I park along the street adjacent to the golf course and walk along the sidewalk. A must see. Nature at it's finest

Elizabeth G — Google review

Gorgeous courses, clean carts, friendly staff, and great weather. After 14 years of not playing a game of golf, a friend took me here and convinced me to play with him. I fell in love with the game of golf all over again and I insisted that we play again 2 days later. Thank you, Monarch Dunes, for being part of reigniting a hobby.

Scott G — Google review

Love that they have two courses. Beautiful views, greens and location. Friendly staff and great restaurant attached to pro shop.

Kelly W — Google review

Fun round with 3 of my brothers. Staff was great.

Martha N — Google review

I loved the course. Well maintained. Got to walk on Sunday am. Thanks.

John D — Google review

Fun round for a charity tournament. Can get windy but the challenge is worth it. I like the layout and how each hole is completely different from the others.

Me and my girlfriend went and had a great time. she is very passionate about the farm and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.

Nathan E — Google review

I work here, so of course I'm giving us 5 stars! It's a wonderful place to work. Our visitors have a great time learning how luffas grow and browsing our gift shop. Of course I'm biased, haha, but I know you'll have a blast. :)

Amber C — Google review

Not a very big place, and the tour wasn't that long. If you want to learn something new it's a good place to go! The tour and parking is free, there is also a gift shop.

Seth H — Google review

The Luffa Farm was fantastic!!! We have always been so curious about how Luffas are made so when we discovered a farm that actually grows luffas and that we could even visit it, we were just beyond excited. The trip was very fun and super informative. The place had a lot of cute decorations for photo ops, a delightful gift shop, and a very friendly Amber who tour-guided us around the small farm. We even saw a birds nest with eggs among the luffa plants which was a real bonus. Definitely a stop-worthy place and remember to get luffas and soap on the way out! 10/10.

Pami R — Google review

It was a really great spot to stop with our out of town family. I've driven by it a hundred times, recommended it half joking, but everyone wanted to go. I'm so thankful we did. Very informative, super nice staff member walked us through and explained the intricacies of luffa.. and probably a hundred bucks cheaper for their product than at the store. When friends come in from out of town from now on, we'll be coming to visit again and again.

Steve B — Google review

Free tour and the owners are abosaulty great people. Love this place

Thomas T — Google review

This is the cutest little luffa farm! They offer free tours and the people here are so kind and friendly ☺️ The shop has some really nice lotions and luffa products. It was hard to not buy everything!

Laura ( — Google review

Never knew Lufa was a plant! Pass by here all the time on Willow Rd and decided to stop by. Free educational tour. We'll worth it. Gift shop big hit with my wife. Lufa prices were $6 $7 $8. Very reasonable, and they help you choose the coarseness. My wife loved the fizzy bath soaps, bubble bath products, and other assorted Lufa based gifts. Very nice folks there.

Edwin P — Google review

A small family-owned operation with fantastic staff. Their gift shop has a great selection of luffas (of course!), soaps, lotions, seeds, etc. We'll never go back to "commercial" sponges or luffas again...

Nathan M — Google review

Wonderfully educational and a fun place to stop and stretch your legs and mind on a road trip.

Benjamin V — Google review

Perfect place to do a quick stop and learn about luffa's. I have been here multiple times. Love their selection of luffas from soft to rough. Also love their soaps and lotions. Perfect for gift and to treat yourself! Everyone is so helpful and so knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!!!

Lesly L — Google review

Our guide was really informative and very friendly! We certainly learned a lot about growing luffas.

Annemarie G — Google review

Awesome farm! The tour was very educational and presented nicely. They have luffa's and we got seeds that we now know how to grow and harvest.I highly recommend visiting and appreciating the beauty of life.

Park

Nature & Parks

This tranquil park with miles of sand dunes & beach access offers fishing, hiking & picnicking.

Aug 2024. Cool with sea fog, 54F. Even though the water temperature is cold, few algae were observed. The algae was not too much but it seemed bad enough to kill a few sea lions.

Kenny K — Google review

I have lived in Guadalupe forever, yet the beauty of this beach never gets old. My two year old enjoys running through the dunes and dipping her toes in the water. Lots of surfers there today, good waves.

Bjorn K — Google review

I've gone here on quite a few occasions for a nice, relaxing, quiet beach walk. It doesn't get very crowded so you can walk for a really long time and only come across one or two people. There's not much here and a lot of wide open space so I imagine it would be a great place to bring dogs. It is pretty far out of the way so I don't know that a ton of people come out here. I imagine it would be a great place to view the sunset.

Zach R — Google review

Wow it's windy but beautiful. Clean and but too many people. Worth the drive.

Rashi — Google review

Do not come here! Warning ⚠️ I'm joking, ideally I go on the weekdays but it's a gem. Untouched beach with great views. If you're from California and like places like Venice Beach, Santa Monica Huntington Beach then stay there. This isn't the beach for you.

Jerryl V — Google review

Absolutely gorgeous! Not at all crowded on the Saturday we were there. The dunes are protected so beautifully quiet.

Jenny G — Google review

Very nice dunes. Kinda strange to get to but there is a parking lot at the end!

Dylan S — Google review

When it is time to leave, get out. They start closing up 15 minutes before the actual close time, fyi. Nice beach, well taken care of. Enjoy the scene! There is a restroom but bring wet wipes if you need to do anything other than #1.

Quinn L — Google review

Good place to get away. Just remember if it's 80's the sand will get really hot, if it's windy your legs will get sand basted. Also part of the park is fenced off starting in Oct and reopen in March 1st but you can always walk on the beach for about a mile where the fence ends and hike the bigger dunes.

Milk M — Google review

We were really impressed by the beauty of the sand dunes. That's something unique and it's really worth the visit. We hiked to the South for about one hour and came back going on the dunes. The scenery is breathtaking, with the sand, the sky, the ocean and the wild flowers. There are patches of tar on the beach and you will get your feet/shoes dirty. The rangers told us that it has a natural origin.

Victor B — Google review

Muh favorite beach ever. Perfect place to just sit in the car and be grateful to be alive. We have so many good memories here. Dogs are not allowed, it is a nature preserve.

Lady H — Google review

It was fun cycling. Mostly flat except for 2 short hills in the dunes. Not much traffic. Beautiful spot. Absolutely no dogs allowed, even inside a car, because it's a recovery area for an endangered species (Snowy Plover). As a dog lover, it's worth the sacrifice to be good to the planet. There is access to the beach and hiking trails in the dunes.

Lieza K — Google review

Always a gorgeous view, extremely windy like EXTREMELY windy but nonetheless a beautiful site to behold and drive through always make it a priority to stop by when traveling through Santa maria. Hope to enjoy the actual water some day

Lopez Lake Recreation Area

Park

Nature & Parks

Bodies of Water

Lopez Lake Recreation Area offers a variety of hiking trails, including Blackberry Springs, High Ridge, and Wittenberg Arm. The campground provides a peaceful setting with abundant wildlife such as deer, turkey, squirrels, raccoons, and even bears. Visitors are advised to be cautious around the wildlife and avoid startling them. The park features well-stocked stores and a restaurant/bar. Cell service is reliable within the park while internet access is available for a fee.

Beautiful drive, beautiful lake, and what a convenient store/ restaurant. When The lemon groves along the way are flowering the smell is amazing. Dogs are allowed on leash. Park rangers Emily staff are awesome and friendly. There are docks to fish off and picnic tables with BBQ grills in beautiful spots all around the lake. They are a bit of a walk from the lake's edge though. I believe it's due to Lake level fluctuation. Beautiful place year-round.

Elise C — Google review

Just finished a trip to Lopez Lake …. Great place to take the family. The trout were a good size and a Special shout out to the staff at the marina store & Park Rangers You made our trip smooth 🙌. Campsites were a little small but clean. Looking forward to our next trip.

Rich C — Google review

Somewhat remote. Great place for hikes and there's a campground

Staschu B — Google review

Great place to bring the family! Yes there is water now! Lol. Staff is friendly and helpful. Sites are well maintained and bathrooms are cleaned well and regularly. Be sure to check the size of your camper if you have one, sites are not one size fits all and if you don't fit some times they are booked up and switching sites can be a problem. Also ask what amp the electrical is because some sites are only 2 prong and if you don't have a converter it will be a problem. There is a small store and Restaurant and Bar in the marina area 4 convenience. You can also rent jet skis, boats, kayaks, and such at the marina. There is a water park with slides with a different entrance fee to get in and also zip lining for a separate fee. But there is always fishing, hiking or hanging out on the "beach" area. Oh and there is a area for volleyball and one for horse shoes. Love waking up to the sound of turkeys, seeing deer, squirrels, woodpeckers in the day and raccoons at night and hearing the owls. Be sure to put your ice chests and other foods away at night because there really is bears out there. I've seen them up close with my own eyes on different occasions. Love that there is next to no cell service so I can just enjoy the present.

Andrea O — Google review

We’ve camped here every year for at least the last twenty-five years! We have our annual camping trip with the grandkids here as an annual tradition! So much wildlife and so much for the kids to do! It’s an amazing place to enjoy!

Pop T — Google review

The lake is 100% full. The camping is always fun. We had a great time. With great weather.

Nichole P — Google review

Seems like a well run place but the campsites are cramped together and it seems the smoke from everyone's campfires made the air pretty toxic. I like campfires but I would've rather they be banned in such a dense campground.

Alexander T — Google review

Beautiful place! Only downside was that the grills were closed due to summer fires but other than that very nice! (You can use gas stoves though)

Snaggysky 6 — Google review

Beautiful with tons of wildlife. The lake is drying up which is exposing more land to explore. The campsites are as varied as the land. Summer season sees the hill campsites opened up. There are some gems of campsites up there worth looking for.The marina is a great place to visit for food and games and the store is one of the best stores I've been to at a campground.

Jevon — Google review

3 Zip line. And you can do a Obstacle course so much fun

Rosalie R — Google review

Fantastic place for the whole family. Lots to do, and the lake is now full to the top! Great hiking, biking, water park during the summer, a ropes course with zip line. TONS of black tail deer just wandering around the park. Lots of variety in campsites (from primitive to full hookup). Marina store and restaurant is really nice. Very highly recommended!

Steve B — Google review

Lopez Lake was really nice. Since the waterpark was closed I set up behind it and had the entire back of the campground to myself except for deer, turkey, squirrels, a raccoon, and a bear. The bear liked to hang out in a culvert nearby, but as long as I knew where he was it was fine. NEVER startle a bear! The store is nicely stocked and the restaurant/bar isn't bad. They charge $5 to connect to the internet, but I had great cell service in the park.Roads were in pretty good shape overall. Restrooms were clean and offered free (cold) showers. The website has pretty good descriptions of each campsite. I think I picked the best spot possible (Mustang 12) for my hammock. The only negative I could see? Many of the firepits had missing or broken grates so I wouldn't plan on cooking over a fire until I check it out first.Overall? Very nice. Thumbs up!

Mustang Waterpark

Water park

Water & Amusement Parks

We love mustang water park!! The kids have a blast and it’s a great way to spend a summer day. Water slides, good snacks and good drinks! (Even for adults!)

A M — Google review

We live locally and decided to buy passes today. The park is perfect for younger kids, and if you go midweek, it tends to be less busy. I am only giving three stars because they don’t allow you to bring in outside food, and their food is beyond awful. We ordered a cheeseburger, chicken strips, and tater tots. Everything was cold, including the burger, which was medium rare. Coming from a server’s background, I know that food at that temperature is a breeding ground for bacteria, so I got a refund on the burger and now I’m waiting patiently, hoping not to get sick. Also, the girls’ restrooms were out of soap. Please make sure you are following food safety guidelines or start allowing outside food. Not sure how the kids behind the counter are reheating food, but yikes! Besides that, no complaints.Heads up, they do not heat water so my boys were also shivering and would have to take breaks to warm up. Granted it was only 75 today. I’m sure when it’s pushing triple digits it’s perfect and refreshing. Cheers

Candice R — Google review

I really enjoyed this water park I mean I've been to other water park inside a lake area camping area by far this was the best one my daughter and I had the most amazing time riding in the water slides being in the pool area bungalows look great they had servers working the Bungalows most water parks don't allow you to take water or food this one had a nice little snack bar where you can order snacks sodas beer this was an awesome place and I recommend it to others I will definitely be back

David R — Google review

The waterpark is fun but the food situation is ridiculous. Prices are fine but the line took forever. Not because it was so busy…..it literally did not move. After waiting for 45 minutes in line we were served cold hot dogs and were told it would be another 20-30 minutes for a burger. The food was only so-so when it finally came. With young kids that kind of a wait is not feasible so I’d love to be able to bring our own food especially with healthier options. I mentioned that to the manager and he denied the issue of the wait….can’t deny our actual experience.

Beth S — Google review

Lots of fun but bring your wallet your gonna need it ... there prices are right up there with bigger water parks and even amusement parks can't do it very often but glad we went.

Eric J — Google review

I've been to the lake many times. This was my first first visit to this Waterpark, located in the Lopez Lake, San Luis Obispo county park. Nice smaller kids pool area, two fun water slides, and a larger steep, half pipe type slide. Lots of staff and lifeguards, all friendly. Good concessions, lots of seating and shade. Great place to spend the day with kids/grandkids.

Tony S — Google review

The kids love mustang! Only gets a 4 star and not a 5 because of their limited activities compared to surrounding water parks. Staff is always friendly and the lifeguards are on top of it! Great day outing to get the kids energy out! Snack bar is what you’d expect from a water park. Plenty of seating and shade!

Jenna G — Google review

Update: I appreciate owner's response to my review below, including the fact that the operator does not control the facilities which are lacking showers. In terms of expecting customers to contact staff about empty supplies, I would stipulate that the onus to maintain proper levels of soap and sanitizer is upon the operator, not the paying visitors. (Yes, we should do our civic duty but none of the publicly accessible sanitizers were filled or even operable.)———While this is a fun facility to visit, it is terrible in terms of hygiene: no soap in bathrooms (which are too few to begin with), toilet paper availability is unreliable, no sanitizer in public dispensers, and no showers to rinse off. Moreover, water quality leaves a lot to be desired when the pool is overcrowded. Taking into account the high admission fees, this place could be better operated.

Daniel K — Google review

Fair price for a fun day, keeps the family cool on hot days. Please add more slides. Snack bar often runs out of some items, but prices are good. Bathrooms could be taken care of more frequently. Hard to keep a toilet dry with wet people all day though. Lifeguards are on it

Jo T — Google review

I absolutely love this place! We always get the season passes. My son has autism and everyone there is so kind❤️

Johanna S — Google review

What a great place for families! We went on Monday and then immediately turned our passes into season passes and got the “Splash Pass” parking permit ($35) at Lopez Lake. We’ve now been 3 out of 5 days this week.Comparing this gem to other water parks, the average age of kid here is much lower. The “older kids” are in the 5th-6th grade range with a few middle school kids. The staff and lifeguards are friendly, helpful, and make it a place where I feel safe about my kids being watched and going on rides. There is a decent selection of food for sale and even some reasonably priced items like the Uncrustables for $2.50 if you don’t want to get the burger salad, or corn dog.for example. The parking is close, so you could bring lunch in a cooler, leave it in your car, and then eat in the picnic area right outside the entrance if you prefer. There is plenty of seating down around the kiddie pool area including several cabanas available to rent plus lots of free seating with ample shade available, too. Lockers are available near the restrooms for the security-conscious person, but this is a really tame place and your car is probably 250 feet away from the entrance. Not a big deal. We’ll be back! Thanks Scott and team for a great experience!

Michael D — Google review

This is my family 3rd time camping at lopez lake. We've camped in Mustang all 3 times. Mustang is convenient. If you have small kids the Waterpark is next to Mustang. The older kids can walk to the lake. The bathroom is close. Always have a great time fishing and camping. This camping time bears were out. Nice area for families.

Aj J — Google review

Great day park for everyone from 1-100. Nice area around wading pool to relax and watch the kids. Reasonably priced the only thing missing is more slides, there are only 3. To add to the fun I suggest camping at Lake Lopez. From the campgrounds it's a 5 minute car ride to mustang water park. The grounds are clean and pretty large.

Mae ( — Google review

Horrible restrooms and the place needs to be cleaned up good

Corey S — Google review

Clean, organized, staff professional!

Kelly H — Google review

It's the only game in town but it's pretty good. Very crowded with too many big kids in the shallow pool. However there was no other pool for them. The slides are good but the lines were long.

Lazy Arrow Adventures

Ranch

Sights & Landmarks

I love it here!! The ranch is beautiful with so many amazing animals. Felicia and her family treat you like their own. You can really tell how much they love their animals and home. You have to see it for yourself, it is incredible. Beautiful trails to walk on and quick walk to see donkeys, goats, swans, peacocks, horses and more! My favorite part was getting to help get the chicken eggs and the Buffalo (if you look in the first picture you can see them up on the hill). The ranch is a must see for sure!!

Katrina K — Google review

Wow!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The ranch itself is so beautiful and staying here really emerges you into life on a ranch! The unique animals are everywhere, from the buffalo on the hillside to the peacocks perched on the rooftops and trees. Felicia and her family are so invested in their animals and lifestyle and are so proud to show it to visitors of the ranch. We were lucky enough to have our covid friendly wedding reception here after our elopement this fall. Everything was PERFECT and so much better than we could have imagined! Definitely will be back there soon!

Rustic farm vacation. Stay on a real working cattle farm. Wake up to Buffalo roaming out your bedroom window. Farm tours and feedings of a variety of exotic pet animals. Exotic pigs, peacocks, chickens, z-donkeys, black swans, goats, deer....And alot more .

Great event. Helpful and knowledgeable instructors to aid with the California Junior Pheasant hunt.

David G — Google review

An excellent nexperience going back in time during cowboy days. Beautiful herds of Buffalo and exotic animals.

Christina W — Google review

Stayed here with an AirBnB. Felicia was a wonderful host! She provided breakfast, gave us a tour of the ranch, and met our kids collect chicken eggs. So much fun!

Leif H — Google review

The experience of living on a ranch was awesome. We did have culture shock when we first arrived. We told ourselves that it's a ranch house not a 5 star hotel. That didn't help. But after we got settled we loved all the trails that lead us to so many wonderful animals. I guess I didn't get pictures of the turkey and peacocks. It was an awesome experience. But you have to be a special person to live on a ranch. We are rural folks but definitely closer to city life. I think the coolest part was after breakfast I got to collect eggs from the chickens!

The Monarch Butterfly Grove, located in Pismo Beach, is a natural reserve filled with eucalyptus trees and thousands of butterflies. These beautiful creatures can be seen from late October through February, making it a perfect pit stop for nature lovers visiting San Luis Obispo. It's an awe-inspiring sight to witness the convergence of flocks of gorgeous butterflies during monarch butterfly season along the Central Coast.

We had an excellent time walking the path at the Monarch Butterfly Grove. Unfortunately, there were not any Monarch Butterfly 🦋 at the Grove when we went because it is not migration season. The eucalyptus trees we're looking beautiful though and getting ready for the monarchs to come in October. We took the side path to the beach, Pismo Beach to be exact. It was a nice secluded path not many people on it it had a little back access to the beach that was very secluded and nice to be able to have a little slice of the beach all by ourselves. My service dog Lucy the beautiful Johnson type American Bulldog 🐕 had a wonderful time running and playing in the sand. It was the first time she had ever been to the beach and she absolutely loved it. Temperature was excellent beautiful sunny skies mid-70's temperature 👍💕🐕🦋🐶

SoCal T — Google review

Fun little spot to see some nature before continuing our long drive. We came in early November around lunchtime. There weren’t thousands but still lovely to see them piled up on the eucalyptus branches. Also recommend walking through the campsite down to the beach (can also use the restroom there), and then Red Bee Coffee isn’t too far away for a pickmeup.

Kailyn N — Google review

Special place for Nature lovers. We didn't see many Monarch Butterflies off season, however We did see a few.I really enjoyed how peaceful it was here and slowed Us down to enjoy the Interesting Plants, Trees and Birds. Clean Public Bathrooms (porta potty) Free Admission Educational. We followed the trail which I recommend just take Your time and allow All of Your Senses, especially Your Eyes Ears and Nose to enjoy.

Anita M — Google review

It was nice and clam, I've been during the actual butterfly season, but it is still a nice place to visit during the off season as well.

Zae R — Google review

Beautiful park! Very clean and well maintained. The eucalyptus trees made the air smell wonderful. In one area the trees were full of butterfly clusters and butterflies in flight. There were quite a few, even though we visited late in the season.Such a pleasant experience.. from the little gift shop to the photographers and visitors from all over.We will definitely visit again but earlier in the Monarchs migration to see them at their peak.

Karen D — Google review

Nice little Monarch grove that had plenty of butterflies when we went in mid February. There are some interesting informational signs. Plenty of parking along the main road. The grove connects to a nice coastal trail as well.

William C — Google review

It was great to see so many butterflies in the middle of the city over 10,000 vibrant orange and black Monarch Butterflies. It's a place for photography. Free parking is easily available on the street. Need 1 to 2 hours only as the area is too small, with very few trees having butterflies. Season to see is from November to February, and climate is pleasant around the year. Place was found non-crowded. Zoom camera or binocular is needed to see butterflies. Otherwise, it is difficult to find.

Pratik P — Google review

There are few butterflies to be seen in March. This place is very suitable for a family walk and then walk to the beach. There are many beautiful flowers there now. Please note that the wind is still a bit strong.

Qin G — Google review

It was an awesome experience to be among so many butterflies at once. It's worth going to see them in big and small clusters in every tree, on branches, some even land on you. It's great. There is free parking, a gift store dedicated to the butterflies, and benches/ picnic tables for you stay until closing. Mornings until 3:30p. December until February the butterflies will be there. It is also very kid friendly.

This is a beautiful little gem near Pismo Beach, CA. We went here on a Monday, there weren't too many people. We arrived around 1030 a.m, it was chilly but the sun was out. As it got warmer and the sun rays light up the Eucalyptus trees, the Monarchs started to awaken. Around noon we saw more activity, 50 or more butterflies would fly off the trees at a time. I recommend bringing binoculars, the butterflies are clustered on the trees and are hard to see. Some flew low, right above our heads. It's a small Grove with a trail that goes circular. It does get muddy if it rains, it was pretty muddy when we went. There is a camp off the trail behind the Grove and it looked like it may have lead to the beach, but not certain. The restrooms seemed to be located in the camp, a ways away. There was a small gift shop that opened around 1130 or so, it's a trailer that you walk up to and can look at their souvenirs, they also sell binoculars. The best time to see the butterflies is around noon to 1 or 2 p.m. when it is warm and the sun is high. Great for families. The hours are sunrise to sunset.

Brittanie H — Google review

It wasn't the right season to see the Monarchs, but we could learn more about their migration patterns. The blue eucalyptus trees are big and beautiful. There is a small trailer with puzzles, shirts, and other things for sale. The gentleman in there was very helpful and kind.

Lisa H — Google review

This place was absolutely beautiful. It was not butterfly season however a great space to just sit and take it all in. Quite and peaceful . Beach is just about 400 + steps away

Anna R — Google review

It’s one of a kind experience to see such a butterfly together on eucalyptus tree. All are Monarch butterflies you will able to see during November to February.Eucalyptus Tree smells so good and that may be the reason it attracts thousands of Monarch on a single tree. They have set up binoculars to see them far and all arrangements are well made without disturbing their nature habitat. If you have zoom lenses for camera don’t forget to garb it along to take wonderful pictures.

RIMAL P — Google review

This is one of the best free things you can do in Pismo Beach. It's small but when all the butterflies are flying around it is awesome. You can park on the side of the road, they have porta-potties on the premises. You can get free educational talks with the friendly people that work there. They also have binoculars set up so kids and adults can look through them. Bring money and support the sanctuary, they have hats, pins, T-shirts, sweatshirts and bags and many more things for sale in their store. The premises are wide enough to accommodate people with wheelchairs.

Elitania T — Google review

This was a great stop! We arrived in late November and the count was over 15K butterflies! It was so peaceful, you could just watch them for hours. There was a very nice volunteer who had some viewing scopes set up for people to use. No entry fee and roadside parking is available.

Chris D — Google review

Nice place to see these great butterflies. Parking on the street is free but can be tricky and limited. You can also head down to the beach from the grove, so lots of good outdoor fun.

David V — Google review

It was really amazing to see this butterfly event. The volunteer was being abused by a nasty mother which was really bothersome to witness. This woman was behaving so entiltled and teaching her child the same behavior. What a shame. The mother didn't approve of the volunteer redirecting the teenager to NOT touch the telescope. So rude on so many levels. The sign even said do NOT touch. Otherwise, the butterfly count was 15,000 and the park is sooo tiny, you didn't need to go far to see them. I wish they could plant more trees for the Monarch. You can also walk to the beach when you are done.

Joan M — Google review

There are not very many butterflies at this time of year. However, per their site, which stated there are plenty as in thousands. It's still a nice place to walk around. No fee to enter. Binoculars would be helpful or a good camera to capture the butterflies, which are really high in the eucalyptus trees.

Jeanette J — Google review

This is a free educational experience. Located at the beginning of the Pismo Beach area. It is a medium sized preserve. The Monarchs are very high up in the trees. There are a few binoculars stations for closer viewing. Parking is limited along the street.

Daphne — Google review

Wonderful experience in December. Not overly crowded, weather was wonderful. I even found a wild honey bee hive in a tree along the road when we parked. Beach was beautiful as well. White sand beach.

Jennifer H — Google review

We came in November when counting was just about to start and the monarchs were all over. The docents were helpful and it was nice that they had camera lenses trained on the biggest groups in the branches to be able to see the butterflies even better. It's a small area of eucalyptus trees (which smell terrific!) Though be aware that there's hardly any parking. Cars lined up along the shoulders and just parked where they could.

Pismo Beach Pier is a legendary and large pier that extends into the Pacific Ocean, offering stunning sunset views and a perfect setting for romantic walks. It's popular for fishing and even illuminated for night surfing. The drive to Pismo Beach from Southern California is filled with scenic views of mountains, ocean landscapes, and winding roads. The beach town itself is quiet and beautiful, with options for dining at places like Woolys and Sheilas.

A fun strolling Beach Town. Great shopping, upgraded the pier area recently, great spot

Home away from home but, with better sunsets. My heart calls for me hear and my mind sinks in the swells. This magical place makes my heart stop and beat, again and again. I don’t know what it is but when I am here, I feel peace!❤️

Beautiful, clean, and not very busy beach. I fell in love with this place.

Amber M — Google review

Too crowded for my taste, parking situation is horrible, it mostly depends on a luck. I’ve been there on a weekend so maybe it’s not apply for weekdays.

MerieKa — Google review

Clean beach. Nice sunset experience place. Lights are cool.

Nk S — Google review

Driving to Pismo Beach from Southern California is a treasure trove of scenic views, winding roads, hills, .6% inclines+, and mountains that appear to tower over the clouds, with ocean landscapes. Driving in questionable weather or at night, requires awareness of the roads (lights and gas stations are limited). The beach itself is a medium sized beach/pier. It has mountain and water views. Paid parking is close by and on the surrounding streets. There are places to eat and shop, more so in the area, rather than on the pier itself. The pier entrance is anchored by hotels and parking. There were plenty of surfers. The waves can come in high. There is a very nice stadium seating styled wall to sit and watch the water and/or people. There is a rest room immediately in front of the pier entrance. The beach appeared to be animal friendly in that people were walking their dogs. There were no readily available stations to wash the sand off of your feet etc. There was a disability assistance ramp near the seating area going down to the beach.

Daphne — Google review

Horseback Riding Tours

We did the sunset ride last week and it was amazing! I am an experienced rider and my boyfriend is a beginner. We were matched with lovely, well cared for horses that were a pleasure to ride! The group was small and our guide, Bryan, was awesome! He did a great job setting the riders up for success, took photos for us on the ride, and clearly takes pride in his work. Helmets, sunscreen, and water were provided, a bathroom was available, and there was a nice shady place to park. We will definitely be back to ride again! Thank you Bryan + Central Coast Trail Rides! This was the highlight of our trip!

Samantha T — Google review

10/10 experience. It was beautiful! Our tour guide Olivia was out of this world friendly, fun, happy, she made the whole experience even better! I don’t have 1 negative thing to say. Definitely book this experience. Soooooo much fun!!!!!

Megan W — Google review

Had the best afternoon with CCT! My husband and I came up for a 1 hour ride (as total beginners) for our anniversary weekend. The entire team was welcoming and we did not feel nervous or unwelcome as beginners. Our horses, Randy and Tonka, were so sweet, mild mannered, and great listeners! We felt so comfortable on our trial ride and Olivia was an outstanding guide. She was so fun and entertaining - telling us all about the horses and property - but also asked our group questions about ourselves to get us all involved in conversation. She was outstanding! We had the best time 🥰

Halle U — Google review

Cannot speak highly enough of the CCT folks! They are so kind and make everyone feel more than comfortable. We’ve taken some family members who had their first horseback riding experience with them, and they loved it! All of the trails are beautiful, but I think the Santa Margarita ranch one is my favorite. Beautiful open areas make you feel like you’re miles and miles away from any cities. Thank you Brian, Crystal, and the whole gang for everything! Until we meet again…

Kirstin L — Google review

Excellent experience, my wife and I had a small group and one of the owners was our trail ride leader. He was very friendly, helpful, informative and always checking on us guest throughout the ride. We did the 1.5 hour sunset ride at San Miguel ranch, wonderful views very quiet and peaceful. All you can see is nature, highly recommend no matter your experience level riding horses

Blake B — Google review

Was wonderful experience with CCT! We had a horseback ride today at 11:00 and we rode Texas and TJ the horses were beautiful and well trained and our guide was excellent! She has great energy and really could tell she loved the horses and what she does! The trail was beautiful and it was so therapeutic and relaxing. Would highly recommend!

Aaron — Google review

We've used CCT for a few rides and loved it every time. Brian and staff are amazing and super friendly. He made sure to give extra attention to one of our first-time riders and did everything he could to help her have a good time. We loved the superbloom trail ride, will definitely try to do it again next year!

David R — Google review

We had the most divine experience with Central Coast Trailrides. Our family rode through Santa Rita Ranch on their newest (and longest) route. As someone fairly new to riding, our trail guide Brian was patient and attentive and gave great direction. The views were breathtaking, the ride enjoyable, and the memories made will last a lifetime. The route we took offers a three and a half hour tour through rolling hills, creeks, and forests. It's a beautiful way to experience the nature of wine country while riding horseback.Don't sleep on this excursion, it is one for the books!!Thank you for a truly incredible experience, Brian and Tay!

Nicole G — Google review

My friend and I had a great time riding through the vineyard’s in Paso Robles. Neither one of us experienced riders ! We had a great experience, so relaxing Bryan our guide made us feel comfortable and was so knowledgeable about the area. Even got to see a couple of deer!

Lisa T — Google review

Made my wife's birthday amazing. Perfect horseback riding experience for all levels of riders. They have the cutest dogs, also! I can't recommend them enough to make those vacation memories even more special.

Jeb S — Google review

Owners and guides are wonderful! Welcoming, warm, kind, made even the most novice in our group feel confident! Took care with each rider and knew each horse well! Highly recommend! You won't be sorry!!

Kris K — Google review

I had the best experience with Central Coast Trailrides! I scheduled pretty last minute, the day before, and they were able to fit me in. I came by and because my group was early we started early. The trails and views were beautiful and our leader Brian was super knowledgeable and fun to talk to. My horse Pepper was sweet and fun and I would do this again in a heartbeat. Absolutely loved my experience and will definitely be back in the future!

Nichole H — Google review

My wife and I had the privilege of spending the best 2 hours of our last trip riding beautiful horses, through breathtaking scenery with the best host and owner of CCT. This was one of the times that my wife and I will never forget. Everything about it was perfect. This is a family owned (Wife & Husband) business. This family is what makes this country or any country great. Professional, kind, helpful, passionate, and hard working and that just begins to describe this family. Every aspect was great from reserving online to expectation being exceeded from there on.Ridding levels are covered and natural beauty and knowledge of the team is first class. Have told everyone that will listen about how great this was.

JON L — Google review

We had the best time we’ve ever had riding horses! Hubby rode Randy, and I rode Pecos. Hannah was our guide and was absolutely AMAZING! She guided us all over the ranch and told us the history of the property. Even her adorable dogs came along with us! We HIGHLY recommend them and will definitely return should we ever make it back to Paso Robles. 😁

Julie K — Google review

One of the best rides of my life. The views are gorgeous and Brian, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable about the local area. Will be going back for another ride.

Christian F — Google review

Excellent guided riding experience! Brian was super friendly and really helpful in explaining how to ride for beginners. The horses were really calm, and the ranch is beautiful. Also had the opportunity to see some red tailed hawks and black billed magpie, and deer and coyote!

Farm

Sights & Landmarks

At Avila Valley Barn, you'll find fresh produce, ice cream, candy, and more. The farm also has a hay maze and pony rides for the kids. In addition to classic barbecue dishes and local produce, the farm sells U-pick pumpkins in the fall.

Amazing little roadside attraction right off of the 101 freeway! Only away minutes from the beach, this is definitely a stop I will make again and again! The farmers market style shop is a great addition to this lovely family farm and provides a great opportunity to try some different baked goods or pickled produce that may not be available in your town. For only $3, you can purchase a head of lettuce and fea and abundance of animals around the farm! 10/10, I would recommend this spot to locals and travelers alike.

Zach H — Google review

I love this place.Fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, and pastries available to purchase!Good prices!Kids can feed the goats.Family Friendly. They have many unique things to purchase.I love and purchased fresh lavender packets for gifts and to put in my home.

Kim A — Google review

The best tri tip sandwich I've ever had, the sauces it came with paired with the sandwich perfectly I used all three. My husband got the pulled pork and it was delicious, the kids enjoyed walking around and seeing the animals they even offer pony rides. My son got a scoop of ice cream because they also have an ice cream shoppe and candy store! We bought some sweet pickles from their farmers stand which offers a variety of canned goods, fresh baked pies and fruits or vegetables. This place is incredible and I'd recommend anyone come here for a visit. We always come to Avila but had never been here, now we will have to visit every year!

Susanna — Google review

I love stopping here, I always find things, gifts for friends, good pies, honey, fruits and veggies, bee pollen, and so much moreI came on a Thursday to avoid the crowds, and there were a lot of kids on a trip. They have goats, cow's, lama's to feed. Visit the ice-cream shack and / or get some roasted corn on the cob. This place is beautiful during the holidays. Go early if you can to miss some of the traffic and people who visit or if you enjoy the hustle and bussle then enjoy.

Rita F — Google review

So much fun for the kids, you can buy heads of lettuce to feed the animals. It's a great place to get fresh produce and the bakery is amazing, also there is a candy store and fresh corn on the cob for snacks.

Rebecca D — Google review

What a great find! We happened upon Avila Valley Barn as we were headed to Avila Beach. Great place for kids and families. Lots of animals you can feed with the romaine lettuce they sell there. The variety of chickens and roosters was especially fascinating. The whole place is clean and well maintained, and all the animals look healthy and well cared for. We didn't eat there but the farm fresh produce looked amazing and we did find some fun gifts.

Diane J — Google review

My daughter loves this barn. She was able to feed all the farm animals. We recently discovered they sell yummy pies and absolutely had to take home some to work. It was my first time trying grilled sweet corn it is so delicious. We just had ours plain, so we were really able to taste the corn without any added condiment. We will definitely keep trying to come back.

Adi M — Google review

Such a fun cute family friendly place toGo to. If you like local produce, feeding barn animals, hay mazes, and such this is for you. It’s interactive and spacious. Surprisingly clean. Kids love the animals but if your little one is scared of them I suggest not allowing them to be too close to them. People here were friendly and wore masks inside as required indoor. You can feed the animals with lettuce which is 3$. We were able to find parking as they have their own lot and there are restrooms available.

Samantha V — Google review

Such a great place to bring your little ones. You can feed the animals lettuce. And you don't have to worry about forgetting to bring lettuce, you can buy it there at there cute market place. Produce is fresh and baked goods are delish like homemade pies. There is also a creamery with homemade ice cream.

Paty M — Google review

Nice place to stop and stretch your legs. Petting zoo, snacks, pies, cobblers, muffins, jellies, fresh roasted corn on the cob, ice cream, fresh vegetables, fruits, and much more. Plenty of parking.

Jenna M — Google review

Cutest, quaint, farm/pumpkin patch I've ever seen! We stopped here whole staying at the near by KOA for something to do to pass the time in the morning and I was SO SURPRISED by all it had to offer. There are you pick flowers, raspberries, and tomatoes (I probably missed more,) so many photo opportunities, a hay ride, hay maze, and climbing hay stacks, the cutest little fruit stand, and even a deli to order sandwiches. There's a large variety of pumpkin species to choose from and animals to feed lettuce to for only $3 a head. We were able to feed every animal a couple of leaves each and had some left to toss up to Rooftop Ralph who became our favorite animal there. We can't wait to visit again next year!

Ashly M — Google review

Has a very cute boutique, fresh veggies, and fruits for sale in addition to the pumpkis in October. They have hay rides to the u pick area, and you can feed the animals for a reasonable price. It's fun to do with the whole family.

Venessa P — Google review

Great place to take the kids. Feed the animals and get some fresh from the farm food. The food shack has an amazing chicken sandwich and we got Mac and cheese for the kids. Pony rides were $10 and girls really went out of their way to make our little one have fun and ensure we got a great photo.

Nicolas A — Google review

We spent the afternoon here and had a blast of a time! You get to feed lettuce to the animals for 3 dollars. They have a grocery store selling fresh produce - strawberries and what not. We also got their pulled pork burger and apple pie which were both great. Definitely recommended to spend the morning or an afternoon here

Collin — Google review

Had a great time here, we fed the farm animals lettuce and took a tour, I had no idea that farmers use grafting trees to grow better apple trees that have better roots. Owl barns was a pretty cool idea too, I take owls for granted in our Pacific Northwest climate with big tall trees but in the California countryside there is no trees available.

Tony G — Google review

My family absolutely loves this place. It’s small, and perfect for a morning or afternoon spent at the barn. You can buy heads of lettuce to feed all of the animals for $3/piece. They have cows, llamas, goats, emu, chickens, donkeys. That are all well loved and taken care of ♥️ Pony rides during December for the holidays, special visits from Santa. The market is so cute and filled with a variety of items to purchase. We’ve bought their pies in the past and they were delicious! Lunch at their sweet and savory restaurant is delicious. This place is just so well rounded and fun for the kids and parents. We will certainly be back for a third time!

Amber J — Google review

This place has fun for the whole family! Buy a huge head of lettuce for 3 bucks and let the kids feed the animals. They have tons of goats and chickens, and even cows, alpacas, donkeys, and an ostrich! Don’t skip the corn on the cob. The barn shop has a wide variety of produce, drinks, jarred goods, and household items for purchase. They have hot food you can buy too. Tons of parking available. Can’t say enough good things about the Avila Barn!

We stop here during Memorial Day weekend..super busy but still worth the stop! We picked up a mixed berry pie that is to die for and some fresh cherries and peaches that are so tasty. We said hello to the animals on the back lot and noticed many children feeding them lettuce. I would go back again if I lived closer!

Stopped here on the drive from SF to LA. This is a great little place and makes a good rest stop to break the journey. I don't have kids, clearly, but I highly recommend this place if you do. It has a lovely farm shop selling a huge range of wholesome products, from apple pies to trail mix and toffee apples. You can also buy fresh produce such as fruit and veg.For children, there is a petting zoo, straw maze and point rides. It is just so cute.We ate at the Smokebouse here- the fried chicken sandwich was unbelievably good.If you're doing a long drive, it's well worth breaking up the journey here, or if you have kids, making it a part of your trip.

Adreena A — Google review

This place is amazing! Of course, feeding all of the animals romaine lettuce is free and fun. But oh my goodness, their pies are out of this world! Far better than another brand of pies in the area that starts with an L and rhymes with bins. We buy tons of pies from this place every time we visit. Highly recommend.

Dave P — Google review

Avila Beach, located in San Luis Obispo County, offers a peaceful and dog-friendly environment perfect for families. The beach is known for its clean and uncrowded shores, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy activities like surfing and fishing while taking in the beautiful coastal views. Smugglers Cave at Pirates Cove is a popular attraction reached via a scenic trail from Cave Landing to Avila Beach.

Always have an extremely nice time coming to Avila Beach! It’s not perfect sand, but not the worst either. Didn’t go in the water, as it would be too cold for me this time of year. Sat on the beach with a hoodie eating snacks. There’s quite a few shops and restaurants nearby, plenty of bathrooms. Everyone seemed respectful of each other’s space. There is also grills that many people were using, which is nice.

Amanda — Google review

Wonderful beach. Quiet surf and shallow slope make it a nice place to swim and play in waves. Clean public bathrooms and a plenty of room to set up a spot for the day. Get there before 10a to nab a free parking spot.

Wesley H — Google review

Amazing beach. I'm usually not a beach person because I get uncomfortable/ cold from the sand and the wind, but I found the beach pleasantly warm despite the breeze.Perfect place to learn how to surf with small waves and a gently sloping, sandy beach.

Sean W — Google review

We came on Thursday and it was almost empty and so much parking. The creek near by is good place for kids to play as well. Came again on Saturday and had to drive around thrice to find parking so plan accordingly. Lots of ppl on weekend and beach feels lively. Waves are great for kids to play in.

Sweta S — Google review

I've been going here for about 30 years. I love it so much that I convinced my husband to get married here. We try to come up here at least once a year even during the cold rainy season. It never disappoints! Or go to places are Hula Hut, Custom House, and San Luis Bay inn.

Valerie E — Google review

Very nice beach and the stores have a wide variety of stuff. Try out the Hula Hut for smoothies.

Reed B — Google review

First family trip to a beach from Colorado, and this place was perfect. Life guards, lots of families and kids, cheap boogie board rentals (10 bucks all day), and places to eat afterwards. Was able to get pay parking very close to the beach for only 8 bucks!

Matthew R — Google review

It was my first time here and it was the perfect weather for a beach day! It was a clean beach without the crazy crowds. My babies absolutely loved getting in the water and playing in the sand. Even got to see some whales! Locals were friendly as well when I needed some help. Showers available in the bathroom area to rinse off. Lots of little shops around, but we didn't get the chance to visit. Beautiful scenery, lots of fun! Definitely coming back!

This is a calm and Long Beach. It's clearly a favorite of dog lovers. If you have a dog, this is the beach to come to. If you don't like dogs, do not come here.

I love Avilla Beach, such a relaxing beautiful place to visit.

Catrina C — Google review

This beach is stunning! The town is great and offers ample free street parking or there are public parking places which charge a nominal fee. It's a small, quiet place and so idyllic! The beach itself is gorgeous and plenty of space to walk, collect shells, read, surf, swim or play. On one side of the pier, there are swingsets and playground equipment. The pier is closed due to needing renovation. I've been to plenty of beaches but Avila Beach stole my heart with it's quaint, quiet charm and beautiful scenery. I hope to come back!

I just love Avila Beach. Small beach with great shops. So relaxing and enjoyable.Wonderful food choices and even has a small grocery store. Coffee house is great.(Hula Hut). Lots of gifts and souvenirs.Beach has rinse station to remove sand.Very friendly people.

Beach location was awesome. It must be nice in the weekday . The time we went was at its peak Saturday and due to the Opening of Ca. Enjoyed while we were there. Of course the water was cold, but being out was enjoyable. We had our little dog so I let the family go out to the beach while I watched from above. Had to wait an hour. 10am-5pm no dogs. Relaxed and watched the waves. As always, post whatever your adventure takes U.

Eddie B — Google review

The weather was perfect in mid-June and there was plenty of space to lay out our beach towels to sit, relax and enjoy the unobstructed view of the ocean.

Karina A — Google review

Very beautiful beach. It can get cold and foggy even in July. Dress appropriately. The Pier is closed for renovation. There are stores and restaurants right on the Main Street. Bathroom services are available as well.

Shahbaz S — Google review

Its the local experience here. Way chiller than Pismo, smaller but still diverse board walk with food, drinks and an AMAZING clean beach. I think they allow dogs after 5pm even though there's a dog beach right up the road. My cat loved it lol

The Point San Luis Lighthouse, dating back to 1890, is a National Historical Monument and a must-visit destination. Accessible via a rocky hiking trail or an afternoon trolley tour, the lighthouse offers guided interpretive tours showcasing its Prairie Victorian and Gothic style architecture. Visitors can explore the original Fresnel lens and Victorian-period furnishings inside. The property also boasts stunning views of the surrounding area.

Beautiful old lighthouse & grounds, great scenery. You can access via the shuttle when it's running or water by kayak and the beach. Self led or docent tours available.

Jeff P — Google review

A quaint but beautiful experience. We could go inside but the walk around the grounds was tranquil and the gardens were fun to look at. There was even a rope swing that made it feel like you were swinging over the ocean. Plus the kayak trip out to it was filled with otters and seals. 10/10 would recommend!

Holly P — Google review

This was such a fun experience! The tour guide Kent was very knowledgeable and answered all questions with no hesitation. Knew dates and the names of people that lived there. The set up was neat and the history and information was cool to see. The restoration of the buildings is impressive, seeing what it was before. The view was amazing. This was really cool and such a great memory for our honeymoon.

Sunserree S — Google review

We took the van tour because my friend can't walk far due to recent knee surgery BUT the van just takes you to the lighthouse property and then you walk around with a guide. Part of the tour is walking up the tower of the lighthouse which is challenging since the steps/ladder are steep and often without hand rails. The views from the property are spectacular - such a beautiful area and the lighthouse has great history. I recommend the tour IF you are able to walk a bit and up and down stairs.

Melissa M — Google review

We put our inflatable kayak in by the wharf at 10:20, landed at the beach at 10:45, walked up to the lighthouse, rinsed our feet near the bathroom, and strolled around the grounds. beautiful experience. We made it back,l oaded thr kayak, and were on our way. by 12:20. highly recommend and would like to return.

C W — Google review

Docents we're great. The property was beautifully restored. A very fun time.

Chip R — Google review

Finally made it out to see the grounds. Had to rent a kayak to get out there… would be way better if it was open to the public for hiking and biking up there…

Mike S — Google review

This is one of the best kept secrets. The drive up and in to the lighthouse is spectacular!!! The docent Phil was very detail oriented and had extensive knowledge about the sight the family and the function.

Sara L — Google review

The docents are fabulous, the scenery is awesome, and the central coast weather is usually spectacular. Very affordable and well worth your time.

Steven A — Google review

My fiancée and I kayaked here from Avila Paddle Sports and it was a great experience. It took us about 30 minutes to get to the private beach and then another 5 minutes to walk to the lighthouse. It's a very serene place with stunning vistas. If you're looking for a fun and leisurely activity to do with friends and family, a lighthouse kayaking or paddle board trip is a must. Would definitely come back!

I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding here! It was BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL and totally unique. I loved its picturesque views and historic charm and felt that it was the perfect backdrop for a wedding. The event went on without a hitch because of the wonderful, organized, kind staff! I hope to return asap!!

Nadine W — Google review

What a wonderful experience! This is a bit of beautifully preserved history. Our tour guide, Susan, was knowledgeable and passionate; she kept us fully engaged throughout the tour. Even the business ride with it's amazing views was great.

Diana D — Google review

On a 5 minute ride up a narrow road in a mini bus, openings in the trees provide spectacular views of the bay. The lighthouse and grounds are beautiful. The interesting history of the port and lighthouse is well depicted by remnants, photos, and information from the docents. The 2 hours we were there passed quickly.

Will S — Google review

Beautiful restoration of the lighthouse and keeper's home. Our docent was amazingly knowledgeable both for the hike to the lighthouse and for the tour itself. I've visited a number of Pacific coast lighthouses and this is one of the best restorations and tours.

Charles C — Google review

Very interesting. Not a very tall lighthouse. There are steep stairs then up a straight ladder up to the top. I'm a little challenged physically but was able to do it.

Dale F — Google review

RESTRICTED ACCESS - DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS!No public access and $25 ticket for the shuttle in. Google maps directions are wrong and when I called from an hour away to verify the correct way to the lighthouse, the restricted access information was not mentioned. So now I'm here and can't get to the lighthouse and have wasted a lot of time and gas. Awesome.

Clisby W — Google review

This was very interesting, and special to us after finding out that my grandfather was posted at this lighthouse for a little while! The docents are very knowledgeable. If you have bad knees/hips, just know you probably won't make it up to the very top of the lighthouse. But there are enough other interesting things to see to still make it worth it.

WOW!!!! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place for all group types from families to friends. It is so much fun!!!! My sisters and I really enjoyed our time here. All the staffs were professional; their number one priority was our safety and also to make sure we had fun. I didn't know what to expect and the staffs were spot on with their own personal experiences. This was the highlight of my trip with my sisters. Whenever I come back for another vacation I am definitely bringing my family to try this!!! Thank you for a great time and for ensure we were safe while having fun!

What a great and fun ride!We went for the 07:30 pm sunset experience, and it was just an amazing ride. We were gifted with the sunset in the West, and moonrise in the East. What a view (-;Team was super professional, operated very safely and securely, and was extremely friendly!Well done…and highly recommended!

Yaron R — Google review

A lot of fun and everything seems very thorough as far as safety precautions. There is a little bit of hiking. Overall a good time and I'd come back again.

Alexis J — Google review

My husband and I have been wanting to try this out for a few years now. We decided to take some out of town visitors. I'm so glad we finally decided to do it. It was so much fun! There is some hiking involved and I'm not a spring chicken anymore but if I can do it anyone can! They have plenty of water in places when you need it so don't worry about bringing your own. I highly recommend a fanny pack. I didn't want to risk having my phone in my pocket so I left it on the bus but it would have been nice to get some pictures and videos of others in out group. I don't recommend trying to video as you are zip-lining. They do take some pictures before the first line and post them but that's it. The staff was great. Very friendly, answered all of our questions and went through all of the safety measures on every run while talking through it as they did it. Even the bus ride from where you check in to where you get suited up had an audio history of the area that was very interesting. I highly recommend Margarita Adventures!

Tawny S — Google review

This zipline course is awesome. It's beautiful, safe, clean and professional. All of the staff were super professional, informative and helpful, they totally took care of us the entire time. It's a great outdoor adventure during Covid. All the restrooms and equipment are sanitized for each tour. There are a couple short bus rides where you need to wear a mask. Also there is are 2 short hikes on this course, one of which is up a steep hill, but there are plenty of places to stop and take a break. They provide plenty of water on the course and trails in single use cups. I thought the whole trip was worth the price. Also be sure to bring cash to tip your super helpful tour guides. I'll definitely be back with a group of friends.

Perfect family outing at the vineyards. The crew is well trained and efficient. It’s best suited for people who want some thrill nothing too scary or exhausting. Heat can be an issue during day trips. They have multiple zip lines. Night safari are good too. If you are lucky you might see some wild life including bears.

We did the escape room yesterday. It is incredibly well designed, well laid out and challenging. I like that hints have to be requested (and not force fed to you) and our host was super friendly and welcoming. I can't wait until they've finished their expansion!

If I could give them a 10 I would!!! Every single employee from the person who scheduled our tour to the bus driver to the many people working the zip lines were allso friendly and professional. Our family did the escape roomOn my 12 year olds birthday. Neil did an awesome job guiding us through the experience. We had never done an escape room before and even though this one was difficult, he gave us all the info we needed to feel confident. He made the experience really fun and intriguing and made it feel very realistic. We were really into it and had a great time working together to solve the puzzles. Huge props to Neil for doing a really great job introducing us to the process and making it really fun for all of us.

Had a fantastic time. Took my girlfriend and friend out for a birthday adventure, and loved every minute. The people are pretty great too. They have a lot of knowledge about the area and I'd honestly pay for even just a history tour with them it was that good. They take care of everything so you go, learn cool facts, and zip your little heart out. Also our driver had a great radio voice and stellar mustache. It was glorious. The people in the shop are also really nice. Our party stayed a while there after our tour just to talk with them.Highly suggest going if you have the opportunity. Who knows...maybe you too will be graced by Mr. Mustache.

My company recently did a team building event at Margarita Adventures. I was so impressed by the staff! They were so good at facilitating conversation with engaging activities (or as they call them initiatives). The activities were both fun and thought provoking and the discussion about them after were wonderful and closed the loop on the process. They were all so kind and I really enjoyed the experience.

Ancient Peaks Winery is a must-visit destination, especially after experiencing the thrilling zipline adventure at Margarita Adventures. The tasting room and cafe offer indoor and outdoor seating, with a restaurant serving snacks and lunch. The wines from the pearl collection, such as the 2019 whole cluster Syrah with its deep color and leathery palate, are highly recommended. Additionally, the 2020 Malbec is already delightful but could benefit from further aging.

This place was certainly one of the best stops in our trip along the west coast. The kind treatment of the people inside, the selection of food, cheese, delicious figs and other forest fruits, and the unparalleled taste of their wine (which for us coming from Europe is rare to find given our high standards) made it an unforgivable location. We highly advise visiting it.

Javi V — Google review

We walked in without a reservation on a weekday. There is seating both outside and inside. They have a restaurant where you can have snacks or lunch. Shelley served us 5 wines from the pearl collection. I liked the 2019 whole cluster Syrah which featured a deep color and leathery palate. These wines are quite dry and have higher ABV. The 2020 Malbec is already good but could lay down for another year or two. They have several wine club choices. This is a large Winery with nice facilities.

JD R — Google review

We stopped here for a wine tasting before our zip line adventure across the street. We enjoyed the wine and food. The pace of service is relaxed so don't come if you are in a hurry. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of your party as you indulge with good food and wine. Definitely recommend having a tasting and the charcuterie board. Wonderful place to visit!

Always the best time here, whether celebrating a special occasion, or simply enjoying a wine tasting experience.... The staff does a great job introducing the wine(s) to new guests, and they greet longtime members by name. It's difficult to choose a favorite item from the Cafe menu, and the wines are hard to beat.

One of our favorite wineries. Good wines at good prices. Always enjoy our visit. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Great place to taste wine or have lunch. Worth a visit.

Great experience! The wine is divine. The chardonnay and maybe stood out to me the most. Tried the Pearl Reserve wine tasting. Katie is so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about the soil and wines and the area. Gorgeous seating areas, we sat on a comfy couch! Definitely recommend.

Recommended to us after our excursion with nearby Central Coast Trailrides. Excellent parmesan truffle fries and fresh baguette with olive oil and balsamic. Enjoyed 2 refreshing glasses of wine - Cabernet Sauvignon & Renegade. Our server, Christina, was personable and delightful!

Rachel W — Google review

What a great find! This tasting room is just minutes from downtown SLO. Our server, Christina, was personable & friendly. We happened to try today their house clam chowder, & we have to report, it’s the best clam chowder we had in the last 2 weeks of our travels in the area! Pairing the wines with a charcuterie board was light, easy & delicious. ❤️ you can bet we’ll be back when we come back the central Coast another time.

Ancient Winery is the best place to have a real good local wine tasting that is worth it.We had the opportunity given by a combo offer from TripAdvisor: first sippin then zipping. Means wine tasting, including amazing plattern of cheese, salami, Italian ham and almonds as well as fresh baked bread. Every wine comes with a detailed, interesting explanation. After this, you'll be picked-up by a bus across the street to be taken to the Zip-lining area. As this was absolutely fun and the guides did a great job, the view over the wineyard is pretty impressive. Will definitely do it again, if we'll ever stop by.

Alex D — Google review

Savannah was absolutely amazing! Customer service was rocky in the beginning with the greeter and the 1st waiter. For whatever reason Savanah took over and completely flipped our experience around for the best. Thank you Savanah for aamazing customer service. Moving onto the food...WOW. DELICIOUS. Pictured is the tri-tip sandwich, fig and brie Hamburger and the curried chicken salad. All very delicious.

CINS S — Google review

Wonderful experience! I remember visiting Ancient Peaks Winery years ago when it was only a tasting room. Today, the tasting room has expanded, and now includes a full restaurant with a great selection of options, as well as the wines to taste or by the glass. The wines are well made, and there are a sizable selection of different varieties (including now three Italian varieties) at a wide range of price points for all budgets. The tasting room is welcoming and friendly, and the service has always been exceptional. Santa Margarita is just 15 minutes from San Luis Obispo, but the little town seems like a throwback to another era, and you can sit outside on the patio and enjoy the small town feel. Our server shared with us the interesting history of the land and soils of the Santa Margarita Ranch, including fossilized oyster shells that help deliver some of the characteristic flavors of the wines we tasted. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a lovely time visiting the Ancient Peaks Winery! We were greeted with joyful smiles from an excellent staff who goes above and beyond for the needs of their customers! We ordered the tri tip & the truffle fries, both out of this world. They have a wonderful variety of delicious wine & an amazing menu to choose from. Savannah & Erin waited on us and were both wonderful! I highly recommend a visit to Ancient Peaks. It will delight!

Located in Atascadero, California, Charles Paddock Zoo is a 5-acre zoo that houses a variety of local and exotic animal species. The zoo is dedicated to conservation efforts and participates in globally managed preservation programs for rare animals. Visitors can expect to see a diverse range of creatures, including an impressive red panda exhibit. While some animals may appear lonely, the staff are knowledgeable and provide valuable insights into the wildlife.

It’s a cute little zoo and definitely has not some boring animals and birds. It was a good experience overall. Although, a one time visit. Entire zoo would be covered within an hour.

Deeksha T — Google review

Cute small zoo. We wentduring the week. No lines to get in. Clean and friendly encironment. The tiger is beautiful, but seems sad. We saw the whole Zoo in less than 2hrs. A nice stop before heading to the beach.

TheBayArea831 — Google review

This is a small zoo with really neat exhibits. They have an assortment of different species. A portion of the zoo was being worked on when we visited, so calling ahead to see if all exhibits are available to view may be worthwhile. We made it by all the animals that were on display in about an hour. The gift shop has plenty of things to choose from to remember your visit.

Cassandra C — Google review

Like many other reviews, this zoo is small and can be easily viewed in less than 45 minutes. The little ones enjoyed all the various birds and turtles/ tortoises. The zoo needs some up keeping but overall, this is a cute zoo.

Anthony C — Google review

A very small zoo. It was so hot most of the animals were hiding in shade. They do not have a big selection of animals.

Lisa M — Google review

My son was in awe of the tiger. My nephew wants a pet meerkat now. The gift shop has some pretty cool souvenirs. All in all a pretty nice exhibit. Educational. Though I always feel empathy pains for the animals living there. Not that they're bring treated badly. Just because they have to deal with a bunch of loud humans all the time.

Marisa Z — Google review

A very well run, relatively small zoo. You can get through the whole thing in less than an hour. They have animals that you don't see in most other zoos and the workers are very knowledgeable and ready to answer questions and excite kids! Great way to use an hour in the fresh air and bright sunshine!

Jonathan L — Google review

This zoo is a very well kept zoo with an amazing red panda exhibit but there was only 1 red panda out in the exhibit due to the heat. visibility to any other red pandas were hidden which was very disappointing. The other animals they have are great! But some are lonely and it's visible they need other companions such as the monkey they have. Besides that, the zoo is very well kept and the staff is very nice and answers questions about the animals with excellent experience which I appreciate. Also the lion water fountain is a breeding ground for mosquitoes and is filled with black and murky water making it unable to be used.

Helix P — Google review

Cute and cozy little zoo. Fun but unremarkable, but that's not meant as a negative - just measure your expectations. Fun place to take the kids and spend an hour or so walking through it.

The weather was overcast and drizzling so it was almost completely empty. It was a really cute little zoo! My kids loved it and the playground just outside was very nice!

I love the fact that it's small. Easy walk thru, not crowded, easy to see all the animals. Will come again.

2024: cute little zoo. It’s well taken care of and the animals are unique enough that it’s worth a visit. The Tiger is very cool. The red panda is also fun. All the animals were active at lunch time, minus the Tiger. $12 adult, $8 youth (6-12 yrs).

Abby O — Google review

This is a nice little zoo! We were pleasantly surprised at how much there was to see. Our family had a great time. There is a nice park next to it, with tables and large play structures, that we will have to check out the next time we come.to the zoo.

Jeff P — Google review

For a small Zoo it was pretty decent! You definitely can see everything under 30min. The enclosure are nice and seemed to have a lot of enrichment for the animals. They have a good selection on different animals. Was surprised by the fact it seemed like if office lady was the only employee/volunteer that we could see. Definitely a great spot to visit if you are driving by the area, there is a big park with benches and tables to have lunch at.

Corinne F — Google review

This is a very small zoo, but has a good collection of animals. It will take at most an hour to visit.

Gregg W — Google review

Very quaint and adorable zoo. Small but very neat. The animals look to be in good health and well taken care of. It is a reasonable price foe the size. The aviary bird walk through was a definite highlight. It's a must stop if you are in the area.

Ms C — Google review

This zoo is really cute and great for kids in the community. Their Halloween trick or treat walk through at the zoo at night is really super fun. Love seeing the little ones in my family so happy to visit here.

Hessian H — Google review

A mid day trip to the zoo may not have been an ideal time, as the vast majority of the animals were asleep or out of view. I saw a collection of flamingos that seemed happy enough. The tiger cage is far too small, and it was quite saddening to see such a small enclosure. The fossa was cute, but seemed to be relatively distressed. Lemurs seemed content to watch the ducks chilling out in their cage. There were more turtles than expected, and a several types of birds. The entire zoo could probably be traversed within 10-12 minutes if you aren't spending a lot of time looking at the animals. My overall opinion is that the zoo seems to do its best for the animals with the space they have, but is ill equipped to provide better sized living areas.

Matt J — Google review

Such a cute little zoo. Took my son for his birthday and he loved it! It’s definitely the perfect size to get a toddler tired.I have been coming here since I was younger and it has changed in many ways. Love the red panda exhibit.Adult admission was reasonable for the size of this zoo. Theres plenty of parking and a near by park.

The Tobin James Cellars Winery is a winery located in the heart of Paso Robles wine region, featuring an inviting tasting room with a grand, 150-year-old bar. The winery crafts intense fruit driven wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrahs, Zinfandel, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Dessert Zinfandel.

Tobin James is one of me favorite wineries. There Reseve Chardonnay is fantastic. Can't leave here without a case everytime. There are so many wonderful tasting wines. The staff is awesome, kind, helpful, nice and so much fun to do tastings with. Staying on the property is awesome. The room are fantastic. Very clean. Well equipped it all your needs. What a wonderful experience.

Amazing experience. My fiancé and i became members. My favorite wine was "liquid love" my fiancé's favorite was "dream weaver" and they have a nice little seating area outside. The only downside is they don't have actual food, only little cheese snack boxes with crackers.

It was a really great experience here at Tobin James! Everyone was nice and very helpful. Highly recommend coming here while in Paso Robles!

We stopped by TJ today for the first time, and enjoyed a tasting with Crystal who was very friendly and informative! She was a large part in our decision to join the wine club. My wife and I sampled over a dozen wines. We had a great experience and left with a few souvenirs. We are looking forward to our first 8 bottle shipment in April, but we will probably be back before then.

Stop by on your way to and from Palo Robles. It’s a big place with country of staff outside seating and picnic area. The manager is very attentive, and the wines are excellent. $20 tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle.

First time at Tobin James and our first stop in Paso. We had a wonderful experience and Andrew made it even more enjoyable! The wines are great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and every staff member was awesome! They truly lived up to their great reviews. I would totally recommend going here if you want good wine and a warm and inviting experience! I was having such a great time I forgot to take any photos of the wines. Also, as a side note- the little birdie wine topper is a must! It chirps when you pour 🐦

I really wanted to love this place, in fact at first we wanted to stay for two days. It is that beautiful. Our plan was to do a photo shoot on the second day, as there are so many unique buildings, antique fixtures, and just overall lovely scenery. The ladies who checked us in were so friendly too. As Harvest Host members it is 'requested' that we spend $20 at a property, and we always spend much more than that. This particular property, however 'required' that we spend $20 per person. The wines were mediocre, which I could have lived with. What turned us sour on our stay was the bartender. I literally felt as though I was a waste of his time. I tried to communicate with him, but all I ever got in return was, "which one do you want to try" There was no verbal communication of what the wines were like, what they paired well with, or upsell of any sort. At one point the bar tender left us to talk to a fellow employee. I witnessed him whisper to her as he pointed at me and my husband. I could go on but I think you get the picture. We wasted no time leaving.

Just finished my first wine tasting experience at Tobin James… AMAZING atmosphere. I absolutely LOVED Veronica, and her recommendations were spot on. You don’t always find a place that has great wine AND great people. If you haven’t checked them out, I HIGHLY recommend making this a top place to stop if you’re coming to Paso Robles. Added bonus is they are visibly supportive of our nation’s military. Will definitely be back!

Brit H — Google review

A must visit on your wine tasting trip! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing wines across the board. While the trend in Paso seems to be to raise tasting fees, increased bottle prices and higher bottle limits to wave tasting fees, TJ has kept their prices on the ground. If you want a really great atmosphere and wines that are very reasonable, this is the place to visit!

The party events are incredible. 4 bands playing through the night and food galore by over 25 food vendors all night long.

I recently visited Tobin James Winery, excited to use a wine passport I earned after completing a marathon. This passport was supposed to grant me a complimentary visit, and Tobin James was explicitly listed as a participating winery. Unfortunately, they did not uphold their end of the agreement. Despite my attempts to resolve the issue, pointing out that other wineries had accepted the passport without question the same day, the staff simply dismissed its validity.Despite this disappointment, there were some highlights to my visit. A few of the wines were delightful, and one server was particularly helpful, enriching my experience with his deep knowledge of their wines. His passion for sharing and educating was a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. However, the situation soured again when I tried to leave. I hoped for some understanding or a solution regarding the passport issue, but instead, I met with dismissiveness from the staff. This lack of support and customer service left me feeling overlooked and undervalued. While I enjoyed the wines, my visit was overshadowed by the winery's failure to honor their commitment and their poor handling of the situation.

My family came here to celebrate my graduation! Terré made our tasting amazing. She was so patient and described every wine beautifully. I found my favorite wine forever... 2018 Big Shot Rhône Blend 💜

First time here was a year ago: it was blazing hot and this place seemed fun and relaxed: great wine without pretense. Fast forward to this weekend: we're staying at the Tobin James guest house (shhh, an amazing deal) and have been to several other area wineries. Confirmed my impression from last year: fun people, great wine and a friendly atmosphere you can't just manufacture.Update 7/19/24: Back at Tobin James, the friendliest winery in Paso. Donna poured for us and did an amazing job of explaining and exploring the various Zinfandels. She was educational and generous and sweet; nothing more to hope for.

We had a blast! Rachel, our host, was amazing. We ended up buying lots of amazing wine, and a turtle aerator! This was the last winery before heading back, and we highly recommend it!

9/18/22 We visited here when we vacationed in the central coast. It hasn't changed since our last visit in May. No masks required. They do reservation for busy weekends and holidays. Very popular winery. The receptionist up front was very nice. We didn't have a reservation but she let us in. Luckily it wasn't busy. The pourer selected samples of what I would like. He was great. The charming and wonderful ladies who rang up the sale were very helpful. Nice surprise was the discount for buying 6 bottles. This is our favorite place to visit. There is a grassy doggie area for the furry travelers. We stopped here on the way to the coast and back. Lots of free parking with handicap access. Tall shady trees with patio seating. Very friendly and extremely helpful hostesses. They fill in the list of the wines you want to sample and or puchase at the entrance. I came here to purchase specific wines that luckily were available. You take the list to the cashier inside. They get the wines from the back and ring up the sales. They accept credit cards. My last visit here was 10 years ago. The staff are as helpful and friendly as ever. The interior is the same western decor. Their wines are world renowned. This is our favorite winery in Paso Robles. We will return.

L. C — Google review

The location is convenient and good, but there is no winery vibe. I missed the attention of the staff. If you don't ask anything, you won't hear anything. It seems to me that more work needs to be done to prepare the customer for the purchase. Today there are a lot of offers, so it is important not just to give a try for money

We didn’t make an appointment and just last minute decided to stop by and buy wine.We came at 5pmish (they closed at 6) and they graciously let us in!We were able to sample 3 before buying their moscato! It was sooo good :0) And the lady was very friendly but I unfortunately forgot her name.Their main room is huge and the bathroom was really clean!I would come back here with an appointment.

Tobin James winery is a Gem in Paso Robles. We tried varieties of Reserve and Red wines. All tasted very distinct and loved them all. A big shout out to Donna, she took great care of us. Vibe of the place makes it extraordinary. Specially loved the bar table decor. Would highly recommend this winery in central coast.

Natural History Museums

Nestled in the heart of Morro Bay, adjacent to the picturesque Morro Bay State Park, the Museum of Natural History offers an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages. With interactive ecology exhibits, nature walks, and docent-led tours, this small yet impressive museum showcases cultural history, geology, and oceanography.

Very very friendly staff here at this small museum. There is alot of information about the history of the area including the wildlife. $3.00 entry fee. They even have a nice gift shop. This is also a good place to start to get an idea of what there is to do in the area as the workers will offer you some great advice, directions, and information.

Robert M — Google review

This is a fun little museum filled with ecological and history facts. It's especially great for kids, they have a lot of kid activities. There are great views of the ocean and Morro rock from the museum. They have a huge whale skeleton on display that was really cool. Their gift shop is cute and has some cute souvenirs. The museum is normally $3 but I went on a free day. Parking is free.

Brittanie H — Google review

The museum is a wonderful place to learn about all the beautiful nature in and around Morrow Bay. The entrance fee is great for most families, and the displays are perfectly formulated to keep young children engaged and excited. I had a wonderful time there with my family and plan to go back next time I'm in town.

John G — Google review

The museum itself is low key. The views are awesome! The park rangers there are very friendly and warm people.

Michael S — Google review

Currently, the museum is closed due to emergency construction inside the museum, so you can't see the inside, but it's possible to look around. The surrounding scenery is excellent, not to say, so I always recommend it.

Kai D — Google review

What a cool hidden gem! I had only recently heard about this place, so we decided to go. I'm glad we did! This is a great place for kids to learn about nature and local history. They give the kids a pamphlet to fill out as they come across different things in the exhibits. Once they finish filling it out, they can turn it on for a cool sticker. The panoramic views of the bay are amazing! It's a really fun learning adventure for the whole family!

Jeff P — Google review

This was an interesting and interactive museum highlighting the geology and fauna of Morro Bay. A bit more oriented for kids, but the views were amazing. Only $3 for adults.

Ivan R — Google review

Much larger than it looks from the outside! $3 entry. Lots of interactive exhibits great for adults and kids. Realistic replicas of local wildlife. Plus there's lots to do to keep the kids entertained. Enter through a small gift shop with typical CA State Park souvenirs.

Jeff J — Google review

Spent the morning walking around this absolute gem. Educational and fun for the kids. Beautiful views. Gift shop was perfect.

Aaron S — Google review

1st timers visiting while we camped across the street. This is one of the coolest museums nestled on the side of the little rocky hill. They even have trails to climb to the top of the hill.A great souvenir shop that does not cost to go into. Love it that Santa Barbara’s clothing line “Adktd Lifestyle” partnered with the museum with hats and t-shirts. Picked up presents for my niece and dog.Museum is $3 for adults and small but great to spend 30 minutes or a couple hours looking out the windows at the water views and Morro Rock while learning about the region’s animals, the earth’s fault lines and more.Great for kids and adults alike.

B H — Google review

One of my favorite spots, after you visit the Museum walk around the trail and so the mini hike up the rocky hill.Totally worth it

Our Boy Scout Troop went to the museum over Veterans Day weekend. We had the pleasure of earning Junior Ranger badges with Ranger Ray. He taught our group how to read weather patterns, showed us some amazing views and how to safely have an outdoor event by finding suitable shelter from the elements. The kids applied this knowledge to all of our activities throughout the weekend and overall had a wonderful experience! Thank you Ranger Ray! You made an impact on our kids and the adults and we learned so much from you!

Misty T — Google review

My 7 year old loves this place. We are visiting and we have visited multiple times. Very hands on learning and great informative information. Beautifully views of mirror rock and the bay. 3.00 for adults entrance fee.

Terry M — Google review

A small hidden gem with lots to show to the kids and keep them entertained. Plus, it’s beautifully situated with large windows and was a great way to spend some time this morning.

Stephanie L — Google review

This museum is more a display of information than physical exhibits but still worth a short visit. The views of the bay/estuary alone make a visit here worthwhile. Be sure to hike up the rocky peak immediately adjacent to the museum. Be on the lookout for blue heron in the area. We enjoyed the virtual reality experience—three different short films seen through a VR headset.

Jonathan R — Google review

$3 entry fee is a great price point for this kid friendly museum. Staff is friendly and plenty willing to answer questions. There are many taxidermy birds and skeletons of sea creatures. You are literally just on the edge of the estuary. There is a small parking lot attached to the museum, but you could park in many other close spaces. Go ahead and climb all the way to the top of the rocks near the museum, as there are good views and a couple great benches. This whole area seems very dog friendly, too.

Miss M — Google review

A little place dedicated to the plant and animal life around Morro Bay and the estuary. You'll get a great education and the littles will have fun with the interactive experiences. They do need some updating, so please remember to donate to help support those education efforts.

Teresa M — Google review

Small but beautiful museum. I only had under an hour to visit before closing and it was worth a visit. Very affordable entrance fee of $3 in May '22.Wish I had my kids with me, they would have loved seeing all the birds and doing the hands on activities. Neat to see the wildlife examples of what you could find in this area. The current WWII exhibit was fascinating and informative. I loved the honest narrative and learning about the time period and what was happening in the area. Neat to see how the bay was used in naval training as well.Helpful and friendly staff and cute gift shop. Staff had great recommendations for other things to do in the area, and were kind with me being there at closing time.Nice little stop with a lovely walk up the hill next door after for some phenomenal views.

Heron Rookery is conveniently located near several natural attractions, including Morro Bay State Park, Montaa de Oro State Park, El Moro Elfin Forest, and Audubon's Sweet Springs Nature Preserve. The rookery offers a small but rich nature reserve where visitors can spot herons, egrets, and cormorants in large numbers. With the help of binoculars, one can observe young birds peeking out from their nests high in the trees.

A small nature reserve easily missed by people walking under and by it. Herons, egrets and cormorants are often present in abundance. A pair of binoculars help you to see the young birds peaking over the edges of the nests high in the trees. The short stroll along the shore of Morro Bay/Estuary is worth the visit on its own.

The campsite has spacious areas with paved pads for parking, fire pits, and tables. Clean restrooms and showers are available for visitors. A short walk from the bay can lead to kayaking opportunities and access to a quaint restaurant.

There were some very nice displays, professionally designed for children’s education. The view from their window is worth the $3 admission fee alone. Morro Bay seems similar to Coos Bay with a Haystack Rock. If you’ve ever been to Oregon you might relate. This Paso Robles winery is known for its wine and dog-friendly ambiance. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and guests can enjoy free tastings. The winery has a rustic feel, with a smaller tasting room.

Love this beautiful winery! Fantastic wine, pretty grounds with lots of outside places to picnic & enjoy, and super nice staff!!! Go, you'll be glad you did.

I like the sangria and glog. I’ve been buying it for years. It’s in a nice bottle. But here’s the jig: that bottle can’t be recycled because of that “cute” little cap, and it can’t be reused! Because they put such obnoxious industrial strength glue on the labels that you will never under any circumstances be able to remove the goo. So they are pumping out tons of these bottles that go straight to the landfill! Shame on you! You need to be boycotted.

The service was great 😃! It was probably due to us arriving super early since we had a few tastings scheduled for the day.We got there before the doors opened and met one of the owners and she was very nice as well. The wines are nice and they have a very kid friendly estate. The kids got to putt around on their putting green and also got to run around with out worries.

Beautiful atmosphere and great wine tasting experience. Shawndra and Michael were very helpful. We will definitely go back SOON!

Cool little relaxing vibe here. Great host. We brought a bottle of the dessert wine home bc it was very unique !! Recommend making it apart of your tour!

We went here while driving from LA to SF. They offer $10 wine tasting sessions. Jenga the dog guided us from the parking lot to the building. We spent 30 minutes there. The staff were super friendly. It is a perfect place to take a break if you travel via Highway 5 in California.

Really enjoyable wines. Paper street is really flavorful and bold. Good sausage snacks while tasting. Super nice staff.

This place is a hidden gem. We had a fabulous wine tasting experience. They have an amazing setup for wine tasting overlooking vineyards. They extensive list wines, great reds and white wines (ended up buying 2 bottles:)). I forgot to ask the name of the server (may be owner :)) but he was gracious host. He was very knowledgeable and took time to explain about each wine he poured. He went above and beyond and even gave us few more pours which were not on the list. We were in last slot 4-5 pm, but we were still not rushed. In fact, he made sure we have a good time. Mush better experience than even Napa / Sonoma wineries. I would definitely recommend this place and would return if I am in Paso Robles again.

Hardik P — Google review

Nice grounds, but terrible service in the tasting room with a snob attitude!I've ordered a case of mixed wines last year through their website, but since we were driving through Paso on our way to the coast, I thought I'd visit the tasting room in person. We decided to purchase a case of their Vin Glogg Winter wine at $165 and thought it would be a good time to try their other wines.Their tasting fee is a steep $20, but the menu says that they will wave the tasting fee with a purchase.Since I was already purchasing a case of their wine, my tasting fee should be waved, right?NOPE! THE RUDE LADY told us that the wine we were purchasing was one of their cheap wines and doesn't count towards a complimentary tasting (it didn't say that on the tasting menu).I'm 56 years old and have NEVER been treated like that at a winery!Needless to say, I didn't try their other wines and will never buy from the Gluntz Family Winery again!!!

Kyle S — Google review

Such a nice winery! Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Great wine!!

Meg A — Google review

Smaller winery with a note personal vibe and small tasting room. Came very highly recommended by locals. Not my favorite, missing some brightness that I've come to appreciate in wine. Their Port is exceptional.

Bryce G — Google review

This place is a hidden gem. I just noticed their sign while on my way to another winery and figured, "Why not? I'm on vacation." I'm so glad I stopped. Their wines are fantastic and the service is top notch. I'm planning on coming back and telling everyone I know about them in the meantime.

Eberle Winery is a family-run winery located in Paso Robles, CA. It features a modern production facility and tasting room, as well as vast underground wine caves. The winery offers complimentary wine tastings and public tours of the production facility and caves.

One-of-a-kind experience that I imagine is the perfect place to start in Paso. Yes, owner Gary really does hang out around the tasting room, yes, tastings and tours are complimentary, and yes, the wine is awesome! I especially enjoyed the Rouge blend and the Cabernet (of course). Look forward to coming back and bringing more friends and family to Eberle!

We had been wanting to stop here on our business travels, and finally had a chance to. Lovely tour of the cave. They recommend reservations, but we popped in and they fit us in. Great, FREE wine tasting and our tour guide Fiomma, was our tasting guide too. Very good wines. I left with 3 bottles and I desire to come back again!

Lauren B — Google review

Very cool winery! Free tastings and free tour of their super cool cave system! Definitely worth a stop if you are traveling around Paso Robles. Did I mention they had free tastings?!? Anyways, the owner is very pro-military and offers a 40% military discount!

Matt W — Google review

This winery is beautiful, and the staff are amazing--They gave us great recommendations about things to do and see in the area, and were incredibly nice. The cave tour was very neat and informative (and free!) And of course, the wine was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back!

Hannah A — Google review

Cave tour and the wine tasting was complimentary. The hostess was very informative and even offered to take our pictures during the cave tour. The tasting deck had such wonderful views of the vineyard. Definitely a place to relax and sip some amazing wines!.

Aswati A — Google review

Such a great winery in Paso Robles. Eberle has been here since the 70’s or 80’s making it one of the OG’s. They are known for their great red wines and their caves. You can take a cave tour, which I highly recommend. Tastings are still complimentary, which is truly a rarity, unfortunately, in the Paso area. Stop buy for a tasting and pick up a bottle or two.

Brandon C — Google review

4.5 stars simply because of how busy this place can get...the staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable about their wines and the tour of the underground cave/cellar is 100% worth the visit (it only takes about 15 mins). I definitely recommend reservations but you can do a walk-in late in the day and try to catch the 4:15pm "bar call" for the tour. The rose was best of the tasting offerings on the day we visited.

Dan R — Google review

Amazing wines. I have never loved all the white and red wines at a winery before. All were velvety smooth. I was amazed! Very reasonably priced too. The grounds are beautiful. Caves are amazing. Must see. And they give big military discounts. Highly recommended stop if you are in Paso

Bill S — Google review

Made reservations online prior to visiting is highly suggested. Enjoyed a table on the outdoor patio and received amazing service from Jennifer who was running around everywhere making sure our glasses were always filled and gave the best recommendations. Walked away with a membership using my veterans discount of %50 off. Thank you for making our visit a memorable one and can't wait to come back and indulge in more great tasting wines.

Mikey B — Google review

Lovely winery near Pasa Robles with a free wine tasting (with a guitar serenade!) and cave tour with a fascinating look at their history and business. The people are so sweet. They also do great charity work- 100% of donations / select bottle purchases on Memorial Day weekend went to veteran related orgs. Just an awesome place.

I've been an Eberle wine club member for several years and didn't hesitate to book our destination wedding at Eberle Winery! Oralia and Cara were amazing event hosts! Our ceremony overlooking the vineyard was spectacular and our reception in the wine cave was so unique and romantic! I highly recommend Eberle for any special event. Their wines are all delicious!

Lori F — Google review

Eberle was such a great choice for a tasting!First of all - they're one of the only wineries with a complimentary tasting, so that was nice for a change. And we ended up buying a bunch of wine! Also - it was CRAZY hot the day we tasted, so instead of tasting on the deck, we actually got to do the tasting in the caves! Which was amazing. It was also dog and kid friendly, which was nice because we brought our two girls with us.

Tyler M — Google review

What a great start to our wine tasting road trip!We stopped at Eberle after it was mentioned by a colleague and we were not disappointed. From the moment you walk in, the staff, team and dogs are very welcoming. Our young lady behind the counter, running our tasting session was amazing. Informative, friendly, charming, well travelled and knowledgeable. She made us feel welcome and answered all the questions we had.We tasted and purchased some beautiful wines and spent a further hour sat in the sun deck, taking in the wonderful views and gorgeous sunshine. We were lucky to bump into Gary the owner and stopped for a chat about wine, football (American) and dogs. Really down to earth, humble, hard working man who had time to want to know more about our trip and life back home in England. Can't recommend you make this vineyard a part of any trip as you won't be disappointed at all, it has a clear family feel to it, with long standing staff and doesn't have the "Disney" feel as some vineyards up the road in Napa have.Thank you Gary and team.

P J — Google review

We walked in without an appointment, but we were able to do a tasting with Michael, who was very knowledgeable. Afterwards Michael gave us a tour of the caves, which are worth seeing. We ended up buying a case of Muscat Canelli.

Andy P — Google review

Small winery with amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff. The wine is good as well. Missed the cave tour, but would like to come back for that and to engage with the great people who work there more.I highly recommend visiting for wine tasting.

Tricia B — Google review

Just visited Eberle and thought they were a fantastic winery. We were initially interested due to their reasonable price point on their wine. Booked the VIP Cave tasting tour and were lucky enough to get Kirk as our server and tour guide. He was so informative and engaging, a true treasure.Loved the wines and are definitely planning on joining their wine club. Unfortunately we were packed to the gills and really couldn’t take our first shipment with us, but plan on signing up soon.Again really enjoyed the wines and tour, you must keep Kirk on, he’s great.

Pam M — Google review

First make sure you make a reservation as not to miss the most unique experience in the area: the visit to the caves. Lisa guided us through some informative tour and the history of the wine maker. Then Stephanie took care of the tasting and conversation in the tasting room. This was a wonderful experience. Thanks to all staff.

Jose L — Google review

We had an awesome tasting, and super fun tour of the caves. Tammy assisted us with both, and is the absolute best! We even got to meet the owner/godfather before we left. Thank you for a lovely visit!

Amazing experience and wine. Tour of the “caves” was fun and informative, Chardonnay was amazing - got a bottle. They have a cave room you can reserve -need to find an occasion to do so. Highly recommend.

Great tasting and tour.If this is your first time visiting Paso, this is a great starting place. Book the tasting and tour online. The process is very easy. And the follow up emails are good.Tasting is free. They have a wide rang of offerings. My personal favorite is Muscat Canelli. (think of it as the sweet fruity dessert Wine for a hot summer day)The tour to the cave is very fun as well.

We wanted to do some wine tasting and watch the sun set and we did just that at Eberle Winery. Customer service was great, wine tasting tour was very nice. We had a lovely time watching the sun set. Our experience at Eberle was 5 stars. Thank you!

My partner and I did the VIP Cave Tour and tasting in the Cave Grotto. Dennis was our guide and he did a fantastic job. He answered all our questions and was so informative about the wine making process. We chose the mixed flight and each wine paired so well with the charcuterie board. Beautiful winery with delicious wines.

Cara M — Google review

Had the most wonderful time here! Heidi was an amazing tour guide and the manager Michelle has a lot of patience. There were several children running around during our tour and then the group tried to complain to the manager and request another tour after they were done touring the caves underground for the day. The management team handled the situation very respectfully. The wines tasted great and the views were beautiful! Highly recommend!

S B — Google review

Michael was such a great host at our tasting. The entire staff was welcoming and accommodations were made even though we didn't have a reservation. The cave (tunnel) was amazing with a great loop hole story of how Gary was able to get'r done. Left with 7 bottles of wine. Great place. Highly recommended.

It was a very nice winery on the "East side." We did the wine tasting and cave tour, good times. We were in town for a concert and were able to hear the sound check from the winery, which was awesome!!

Crystal L — Google review

This beautiful winery in Paso Robles has caves with free tours and free wine tasting. Nobody does that.

Carlos L — Google review

What a great experience! It's so hard to decide which wineries to go to by just doing online research, and I'm very glad that we booked a tour and tasting at Eberle. Our guide was really amazing. The tour was very interesting and informative, and it was nice to see such a big production. It's amazing to hear about the history of the winery, and how significant of an impact Eberle had for the area. The tasting area is beautiful, and Eberle has got to be one of the only places around where the basic tasting is actually free. The wines are priced very well too, so it's easy to take home at least a couple of bottles. I do think we've visited some places in Paso Robles where they're doing more interesting things with wine, but everything that we tasted at Eberle was solid. My wife and I would highly recommend Eberle and will stop again on our next trip.

Dustin W — Google review

We happened upon this local winery on our way through Paso today. What a lovely stop. Kirk was a wonderful sommelier who introduced us to 7 of the wineries current offerings. We purchased a bottle of the Chardonnay, the 2020 Cabernet and the newly introduced port. Definitely worth a stop. We did not tour the caves, but it sure would be fun to! Worth your time to stop.

Dayna W — Google review

Good wine, but even better service. Went there during the pandemic for the first time and wasn’t impressed. Decided to give it a second chance and we loved it! Went with some friends this past weekend and we all had a great time. Our host was extremely hospitable, welcoming, overall great. Wine tasting is not only about drinking good wine but about the experience and we thoroughly enjoyed ours. Our hostess made the difference. Thanks Niner!

Alvaro S — Google review

With the dramatic background of Heart Hill, we had a wonderful tasting at Niner of some of the best wines in the Paso Robles region. Our favorites were the Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The sustainable family farming of the vineyards paired nicely with the farm to table lunch we had after an excellent winery tour with Dusty. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

My favorite winery on the central coast by far. Fantastic wines, beautiful setting and delicious restaurant. A must go winery in Paso.

Julianna C — Google review

This was recommended by someone at another winery as I was looking for a filler before a later appointment. It was the most expensive tasting I did on my trip ($40) and honestly, I was not impressed. The tasting room is very impressive, including probably 50ft ceilings, but it felt extremely formal. I also think they didn’t like that I didn’t do a food pairing with the wine tasting. The wines were good, but not good enough to buy for the prices they wanted on top of the tasting fee (you had to buy 2 bottles for the tasting fee to be waived, and the cheapest were $45 and it went up from there). The server I got was nice and did his best to allow me to try a number of wines along the line of what I like, so he was by far the best part of my experience. I can’t recommend it – maybe it is good for some, but not for me.

Tony K — Google review

Excellent food.Excellent wine tasting service.By far the most efficient and professional experience. The view from the patio was wonderful. To be honest the wines being tasted were good but not worth the prices. My advice is to go for lunch and buy a bottle. Skip the price of the tasting.

Yes, the rumors are true, this place is incredible, it smells amazing, the building looks really good, scenic grounds, the food is was some of the best in Paso Robles, the wine tasting was the most complex experience, our host did an incredible job of explaining when we were experiencing, very knowledgeable of every aspect even the most technical curiosities we might have had! It was a truly unique experience and can’t wait to return!

Niner is a must when visiting Paso. I have been many times over the years and it continues to be one of the best. The wine is really good and so is the food. It is worth getting the tasting and planning on having lunch or an early dinner. Be sure to make a reservation. They do fill up.

Reservations are a must at Niner. We have been trying to get in for 3+ years and we are so pleased we finally made it. Matt, the front host, was spectacular. After learning we only drink reds, he quickly appeared with “greeting glass” of a very nice red wine! Our waiter Matt was spectacularly knowledgeable, friendly and catered to our wine preferences. The charcuterie board is a must! Gorgeous property, gorgeous reds and amazing food!!

What an amazing Estate. Not only are their wines delicious, their winemaking philosophy and their staff are amazing. The wines are high end and have a great aging potential. I hope I’ll get the chance to visit again. I highly recommend it

On January 24th a group of us took a tour of the Niners orchards and facilities. We were lucky enough to be there during a bottling. We were invited to go up into the room where the process was taking place, and although a little loud as expected, the technicians were more than happy to explain in detail the process and answer any questions. Our tour guide Jay couldn't have been more fun, informative, personable, and passionate about what he does. The wines were exquisite, the facilities exemplary, and the staff so welcoming and intuitive of our desired experience. I cannot say enough about this company and the commitment to excellence. From the stunning views, delicious wine and ideal ambiance, you must put Villa San Julietta on your wine tasting list in Paso Robles (San Miguel) We normally game lunch here while wine tasting and take a bottle or two home to enjoy later. Our experience at San Juliette winery truly first class! Our server Stephen was personable, attentive as well as knowledgeable and entertaining. He attended to our every need and truly made our visit at the winery very special. The selection of wines was exceptional. My favorite was the Pinot Grigio, in addition to a selection of reds that was extraordinary. All of this in a beautiful setting surrounded by vineyards, our only problem was the narrow down our choices as everything was so good!

This wine tasting villa was welcoming with stunning views and well-informed sommeliers. The Cab Franc was to die for but the Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec and Zin were worthy and tasty against any. Coleson was friendly and knowledgeable. The lunch was extremely tasty. Overall it was worth the side trip as we traveled from Santa Cruz back to LA.

Daniel J — Google review

The rave reviews of this place made my group and I decide to try a wine tasting flight. The venue is certainly spectacular but the music within the tasting room was far too loud and I had to yell at the other members in my group. We then had literally the fastest wine tasting that I've ever experienced. We were in and out in about 25 minutes on 5 or 6 tastings. My elderly parents who don't drink wine regularly even commented on how the server was watching us like hawks and would come over the moment one of our glasses was empty. On two of the pours my wife's glass was empty but I still had significant amount of wine in my glass and the server came over and started to introduce the next wine. Let me finish my wine at my pace and enjoy your venue. It was not busy and we were the only group inside the room. The wines were mediocre at best. This gets two stars only due to the beautiful venue.

The breakfast and the evening appetizer were delicious and extremely good quality. When we arrived the appetizer plate was waiting in the kitchen area fridge and was tuna and some vegetables. It beat all expectations. They also provided wine with the room which we drank with the appetizer. The staff went above and beyond for us and made the stay extremely special.

Staying here was absolutely amazing. The breakfast was delicious! The appetizer and the happy hour were so wonderful. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed staying here.

Cate R — Google review

We enjoyed a wine tasting experience that was complete and not rushed. Extremely informative and fun. Then enjoyed a bottle of wine 🍷 with a an artisan stone oven baked pizza.

The Inn at Opolo is a fantastic place for relaxing and getting out to enjoy the central coast. Their wine is superb, and with complimentary tastings as a guest of the Inn, you can't beat it. Breakfast is always hot and the staff makes you feel like part of the family.

Rich D — Google review

One of my most favorite places to stay. Only three rooms here, quiet and secluded. Grab the folding table & chairs from your room’s closet, the prepared charcuterie platter waiting for you in the fridge (also a sparkling water) & crackers, one of the daily bottles of wine, glasses, and drive to the top of the hill behind you to a football field sized grassy area with the best view in town! #sunset In the morning, walk across the street, to the left of the small Mennonite cemetery, follow the dirt road (Dover Canyon) for a lovely walk. Come back & enjoy the breakfast that was prepared for you!

Winnie S — Google review

Our guests stayed here and we only visited in their room but I can tell you it was real nice. They had champagne, chocolates and a snack platter awaiting the. The champagne was delicious. Located in the Opolo vineyard you are surrounded with multiple picturesque locations. Their room also came with a fully functional kitchen and patio. It would be my first choice if I stayed in Paso Robles, Ca.

Gilbert B — Google review

The server for our wine tasting was very friendly and accommodating. However, the wine itself didn't stand out, and there is no view of the vineyard from the patio area. The items on their food menu were also pricey.

Shirley W — Google review

Just returned from a short 2 night stay at the Inn and it is a wonderful location. It is about 20 minutes from downtown Paso Robles surrounded by wineries, grapevines, open pastures, trees, deer and beautiful landscapes. The breakfast and service are excellent and I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing little retreat.

Jeff M — Google review

Beyond our expectations! The value for what you receive is exceptional. Full-sized semi-custom breakfast in the morning and generous portion appetizers and wine at night! A massive coffee maker that will make you any coffee drink you want from an espresso to a mocha with a touch of a button! We barely spent any money on meals and beverages!! All included!! The bed was super comfortable...not too soft and not too hard...just right! We slept great! The best part? The nightly Star-Gazing Show! The stars were so bright and big, you could almost touch them! We went with two other couples and had the whole place to ourselves!! The service was outstanding!! Dave, Rick, Annie, Selena, Kevin, Greg, to name a few of the wonderful people that made our weekend special and memorable! We definitely will be back!!

Carol S — Google review

This was one of the best experiences we have had with bed and breakfast. The property sits in the middle of vineyards with a beautiful garden in front of it. The inn host was super friendly and helpful. Guests have 24-hour access to the kitchen which is stocked with coffee, tea, water, and fruit. Breakfast selections were wonderful and made to order. You can also have mimosas with it! Will definitely return.

Clara C — Google review

We stayed here 2 weeks ago, and it simply could not have been any better. Everyone (and I stress everyone) we met was welcoming, friendly, helpful, and courteous. The setting was fabulous, quiet and serene; the room was spacious and spotless; and breakfast was as good as any 5-star hotel you'd care to visit. A special call-out to Selena who really made us feel at home, and her Mimosas weren't half bad either. Thanks to everyone for making our visit special, we will definitely be back.

DAOU Family Estates is a beautiful winery and vineyard that offers tastings, pairings, and picnics on their extensive grounds. The views are breathtaking and the wine is exceptional. Additionally, visitors rave about the delicious food options available at the winery's restaurant. While tastings may be slightly pricey at $45 per person, this fee is waived with the purchase of two bottles per person.

We arrived early for our tasting and were directed to park. We relaxed and enjoyed the views until it was time to begin. What an experience, so much better than other wineries I've been to, not a rushed experience and no huge crowds. Our server was knowledgeable about the grapes and other questions we had. They do separate cheese and meat boards, but you can combine them for a reasonable price. The tasting cost 45 per person, but if you buy 3 bottles the fee is waived (I ended up with 6). I liked 3 out of 5 wines, my dad liked them all. They also had a phone charging station!!! The only thing I was a little surprised by was the bathroom situation, 2 stalls for the women's room(maybe they have more, but for a place that big wasn't expecting that). Would definitely return and recommend.

What an incredible visit! We celebrated our 1-year at the winery, and with Erik & Yosh as our hosts we had a fabulous time 🍷🍇🤩Their delicious wines were some of our favorites on this trip (which was split between Paso & Napa), and the tasty food from their kitchen to pair with everything really made it a stand out experience.Come for the wines and stay for the experience!

Mathew C — Google review

The views here were amazing. Check in was easy. We had to park in the overflow parking and someone was there to pick us up within 5 minutes. The wine selection was great! Highly recommend for the vibes and wines.

Mahak S — Google review

Of the many great wineries and tasting rooms in Paso, Daou’s setting and tasting room/restaurant are its Crown Jewel. Great, no-expense-spared facility, and the view can’t be matched. Unless it’s too hot, try to book your tasting for the front center of the ridge for an unobstructed, gorgeous, and almost unreal like-a-painting view of the surrounding hills and vines, as we did on our first visit. On our second visit the Fahrenheits were above 100 so we sat inside, below the huge wooden beams, near the beautiful marble bar. On both occasions our host led us through a tasting of Daou’s great wines. On the first visit we ordered some charcuterie because we were there to wine, not dine. The second time we ordered no food because we had lunch elsewhere and, again, we were there for the wine. But the menu has interesting selections and the food looked good as it passed our table on its way to other guests, and everyone says the food is good. So if you want lunch and you aren’t near the downtown restaurants, this is a good place to go. But it comes down to whether you are there for the wine or the dine. This is a great spot for either one and the wines are super. Being a Leo, of course I loved the Soul of the Lion Cabs blend.

John H — Google review

You have to experience this place! It has been over 12 years since we have been here. So much has changed! The view is still breathtaking and the wine is even better than I remember. But I must tell you to come here and eat the food!!!!!! I am a foodie and all the food we tasted was amazing. I am not lying. The steak cooked beautifully and the mushrooms made the dishes. Mushrooms even in the salad were over the top superb!Yes, the tastings were $45 pp, but waived with 2 bottle purchase pp. You get what you pay for. Huge open spaces, very relaxing. Plan to spend some time here, give yourself plenty of time to get to your next winery...at least 2.5 hrs later! Sooooo good.

Renee F — Google review

The view is spectacular. There’s a panoramic view from the hilltop, you really can’t beat it. The view is probably factored into the tasting price of $50. The do have some food options available as well. We had a nice meat and cheese charcuterie board, just beware if you do a combo it’s that you’re ordering both and not splitting half and half. Amanda doing our wine tasting was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have some excellent wines especially the ones not found at your normal retail store.

Elizabeth G — Google review

A So Cal DAOU rep shared the DAOU story and convinced us we must get by the estate. So here we are.The place is beautiful. Can’t believe reservations for a tasting has to be set up months in advance. Our group had a tasting and some oysters. Oysters were good and we enjoyed the wine. None stood out as extraordinary to us and our servers was a bit slow but very nice. They were filming a episode for Hells Kitchen so it seemed to be the priority and a little distracting. Wish the weather was better but we can’t control that. We will try again another time

David M — Google review

My wife and I were in Paso Robles for 3 days and we visited many wineries. Daou was by far our favorite winery. The first person we interacted with was Kenny the shuttle driver, he was a happy, friendly guy. We were there on July 2, 2024 and there were only a few other people visiting, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Alejandro was our host for the visit, hopefully I spelled that correctly. He was excellent, had a great personality and answered a million questions I had, even about cellar storage, etc. and the wines we tried were great, our favorites in the flight were Micho and Soul of a Lion. However, after the flight, Alejandro brought out Patrimony which was over the top excellent and then we asked if they happened to have anything similar to port and he said they only had one and brought that out as well. At that point, I ended up signing up for a membership which was completely unplanned.I can’t say enough about this awesome property, its staff and of course the wine and highly recommend visiting Daou if you are in Paso Robles.I don’t have a single complaint about this place and there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. They gave us a gift for signing up for the membership. We already received our first order and the communication and shipping/delivery experience was perfect so far.

S A — Google review

This winery has a corner on beautiful views. It sits way up high on the top of a hill that allows 180 degree perspective on the surrounding area. Wines at the winery - estate wines - are of a much higher quality than you will find on the regular retail market. It is somewhat expensive for a tasting but they were generous and friendly.

Douglas D — Google review

This vineyard is beautiful, definitely plan at least half a day to hang out in the seating areas. They do not sell wine by the glass, you have to purchase bottles. The charcuterie is worth it!!

Melanie V — Google review

This was the main destination for our wine weekend. The good: the view and the service. Really nice place to sit OUTSIDE and take in the views and wines. The downside: not really a place you can just stop by and have a glass. Reservations a must. $50 tasting mandatory. Did not like having to park half mile away in a gravel lot and shuttle to and from location (see last photo)

Tom S — Google review

Our first stop in Paso Robles. Our hotel concierge had made us a 12 noon reservation. We had to park down at the bottom and shuttle up, but that was fine. The shuttle is quite nice. The views at the top are breathtaking. The service is top notch and we shipped three bottles home. Oh and my husband loved the oysters and we also enjoyed a mezze board. Definitely a must visit.

Niki W — Google review

This was not only a beautiful winery, but also a beautiful experience. Every staff member was so sweet and welcoming, especially our host Yosh. We had the best, most relaxing time here and the wine and the views were unmatched! I was really pleasantly surprised by the accessibility and warmth of the vibes. Will definitely be back and grateful we picked this as our stop in Paso!

The wine tasting at DAOU Vinyard & Winery was a wonderful experience. We have been to many wine tasting, but this is by far the best. It was a great day to be outside with magnificent views, excellent wines, and first-class service. We will be back!!

Robert S — Google review

Amazing winery especially on clear days like today with nearly perfect weather. Vineyard is stunningly manicured and set atop Adelaide region mountain top of Paso Robles in CA central coast. The wines are a mix of chenin blanc, chardonnay, cabertnet franc and their specialty cabernet sauvignon of which they have a a couple tiers with their top tier being the Patrimony line. They offer different types of levels of tasting from a 4 flight tasting to a private tasting with cave and vineyard tours and food pairing. They also offer wine club membership of various tiers with many different benefits depending on tier. Reservations are a must and should be done well ahead of time from your planned visit. Parties of various sizes can be accomodated and they have an ample food selection and charcuterie boards and pizzas. Overall amazing visit , good service and location and is pet friendly.

Oscar F — Google review

This is how your wine arrives when you are a club member! 93 degrees and ruined. The lady who answered the phone said “their wine can sometimes take this kind of heat” They ask you to keep it and wait to see if it’s ok. At $100 plus a bottle are you kidding me? If you purchase wine from them you may get these bottles as they were sent back! Needless to say , don’t buy any wine from them as they don’t care after the sale is made and won’t ship wine properly. I can only imagine how the store wines they sell are transported.

M V — Google review

Wonderful day at DAOU! The Charcuterie board was amazing! The lamb and sea bass were delicious. Will was our host and was so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and wine in general. Overall, it was a beautiful day on a beautiful property. We'll be back!

Casey C — Google review

We recently did a private wine tasting and was blown away by the view. The wines are amazing as well as the charcuterie board. It’s a definite must visit for wine lovers

Jim G — Google review

Great friends get together or family outings of wine, food, and an awesome view . A panoramic view of mountain , landscape with olive trees and grape vine yards. No walk-in, needs reservations, and call ahead. We had a great cheese board with an awesome steak. Service and food was great. Tried a flight of great wines.

YMing — Google review

Our wine Tasting at Daou was excellent! We did 3 tastings in the area and this was by far the best experience. Lisa was amazing and helped educate us while also making wine very approachable and enjoyable! She truly helped make the experience one to remember, and we will drink Daou wine for a long time! The charcuterie board was unbelievable value as well. We are going to be back!

Tyler K — Google review

Great wines, friendly and informative views, and amazing views.Had a 4pm reservation that was closer to when they closed, the perfect time for pictures with the sun casting shadows on the hills and trees. Didn’t get food but heard people around us talking about how good it was. Our somm, Jolene, was very nice and informative about their wines, the history of the vineyard, and provided great recommendations of other things to do in Paso Robles. Definitely one of the best winery experiences we had in Paso and a must-do if you’re visiting!

Stephen L — Google review

Let me start with the positive notes.. the views are spectacular! Upon our arrival we were greeted by a pleasant hostess. Our server (not even sure she introduced herself- long blonde haired girl with fake lips) was not that great. We were sited next to huge 2 dogs, and I was afraid for my 1.5lbs Pomeranian and asked if we could sit outside. She said we could sit outside, but that she would NOT bring us tastings as she said she was very busy. OK!! I thought as being a CLUB MEMBER we should have been treated better. So, every time we finished a tasting I would have to go inside to the bar just to see her “busy” talking to another server! Seriously!!??We left the winery after an unpleasant experience with an unprofessional snob. Sad, that I signed up for membership and travelled 4 hours to pick up my wines.Given the wealth and reputation of the DAOU legacy the new management should reconsider their staff!

Olha S — Google review

We did the Patrimony Immersion Experience. It was unbelievable. We had the most fabulous private client specialist, Lisa. She was amazing! Daou is a must go to. It was definitely my favorite in Paso Robles

Monica — Google review

Eeleeka was our host - great wines and great times. Pizza looked incredible, Naples style, we’ll be back just to try it.

David K — Google review

Had the best tasting experience here. Katie our server and Kenny were so fun to talk to and did a great job of sharing stories about the Daou Family, and their knowledge about the wines. The views were stunning and of course the wines were delicious! I highly recommend visiting and doing a tasting.

Matthew F — Google review

Daou winery is a heavenly place! Views are beautiful and the food is a five star restaurant quality! Had a very memorable time thanks to Roman for setting us up. 🤗🍷

Beautiful vinery! The wine flight was stellar and we really enjoyed sipping on our glasses staring out into the mountains of Paso Robles. Enjoyed their snack items as well

It's an absolutely stunning winery in the heart of paso robles. this was our first time visiting, and let me tell you, it's breathtaking. we went during the fall, and the colors looked stunning. this was a weekend getaway. we arrived on Saturday, but we had reservations from weeks earlier. this, the place is very popular, so I would suggest booking ahead.we got 2 charcuterie boards n plenty of wine. this is the perfect place to come and unwin. perfect for couples, singles, or any other occasion. it's a bit on the pricey side, but it's well worth every penny.

Oso Libre is one of our favorite Wineries for many reasons ! Love the seating overlooking a beautiful pasture and green hills, Service is fantastic and we always get to chat with the Winemaker Michael. Oh don’t let me forget the Wines...oh the Wines! One last shout out - check out their Farm raised Angus beef !

Oso Libre stood out over all of the wineries we visited during our recent trip to the Paso Robles region. Consistently memorable offerings down the tasting sheet punctuated the day. Looking forward to coming back out for one of the quarterly (?) barbecue parties featuring local meat and their wine!Update: Visited again, enjoyed a tasting, and left with another bottle. Oso Libre continues to impress! Thanks for letting us taste the Solera!

If you want to experience personal, warm and amazing treatment while drinking some of the most amazing wines, make this your regular stop. You will not ever want to drink the regular fare at the corporate, commercial wineries again.Have never had a wine we didn't love, the struggle is how to pick the few additional bottles on top of our club membership, so we always walk with an extra half dozen plus bottles of wine we enjoy whenever we go out to a nice dinner.Friendliest staff around make you feel special thru your entire stay. Michael the winemaker visited with us for quite a while and we got to enjoy a great discussion about food, cooking and wine. Best day ever.

Excellent location, 5 tastings all Excellent wines! Our server very educated in all varietals we tasted. Bought 2 excellent bottles of Bordeaux. Will definitely go back, make a reservation!

Chuck C — Google review

A wonderful sustainable winery. We had the tastings with the tour and it was excellent. Not only did we get a charcuterie board to have with great wines. We had a tour of the property with the wine maker. You can tell that this is a labor of love.

Abraham T — Google review

Booked the reserve tasting with another couple and our kids. Had a nice private room to taste some delicious wines with the help of the winemaker. A highlight of our Paso Robles trip!

Nicolas L — Google review

The grounds are beautiful and the wine has a lot more character than most. I think a lot of this is due to them aging the bottles quite a bit longer than other wineries. Regardless, they make fantastic stuff.

Doug B — Google review

We really enjoy being wine club members at Oso Libre. The wine is fantastic and the people are really great and passionate at what they do. This is definitely a place to stop by if you are in the Paso Robles area.

Adelaida Vineyards is a popular destination in the Paso Robles area that offers visitors a wide selection of high-quality wines. The knowledgeable hosts provide a fun and enjoyable tasting experience, while the stunning vistas create an atmosphere of relaxation and beauty. Guests can indulge in their favorite varieties or try something new, such as the delicious cabernet sauvignon. Overall, Adelaida Vineyards is a must-visit stop for wine enthusiasts looking for an exceptional winery experience with breathtaking surroundings.

About a year ago, I heard about this winery during a trip with my best friend. Alan greeted us as walk-ins, but I knew I loved their wines from a friend’s tasting. I didn't even need to try more, I became a wine member on the spot. Alan opened up a bottle of Rose for us and let us enjoy it while he packed my "first shipment."A year later, here I am with my boyfriend enjoying a quick getaway for the weekend, enjoying our host, Alan once more. We had a great experience and he really took the time with us to just explain what we were tasting. However, this time we enjoyed hearing Alan's story of how he became an employer and his love for wine. His story was so unique and honestly, made us love Adelaida even more. We loved loved every minute of being with Alan outside before the heat came in.We have had some truly memorable experiences with Adelaida! From my initial visit with Alan, which made such a strong impression, to my birthday visit in January and our subsequent visits to member events,( we came in April for the Twilight event!! AMAZING!) it’s clear that your wines and hospitality have made a lasting impact. It’s always wonderful to find a place that consistently exceeds expectations and makes each visit special. We look forward to our next visit and can’t wait!

Loved this place! Nice drive up to the top of the eastern slope of the coastal range. The winery is pretty, the surrounding views are nice. I sat on the upper deck outside. It was a 10:30am tasting, so it was nice a cool (could be pretty hot mid day). They knew in advance I wasn’t a white wine fan, so they tailored their tasting for me for all reds (and softer reds knowing that in advance too). A very nice women not only poured the wines, but gave the history behind the varietals and where the vineyards were. She took me well off the tasting menu. She even allowed me to taste a port they normally don’t include in general tastings. I loved it and bought a bottle (as well as another bottle of the Cab I tasted), and that waived the tasting fee. Everything I tasted was extremely good. I highly recommend.

Wow! By far our favorite place. We had a private tour and our guide made it an experience. We loved the ambiance, person, wine and the paired foods. We loved the whites and reds. We couldn’t leave without filling the car with wine and promising we will be back.

My first visit to Adelaida winery with the wine club girls. We got the food and wine pairing experience at the library. The food was OK, but the wines were surprisingly delicious. I joined the 4 bottle biannual shipment club 🤭

Marie K — Google review

Wonderful winery with great wines. They personalized our tasting menu and made us feel very welcome. They have a unique tasting experience by providing mini carafes on the wines they're sharing. The staff is friendly and informative. Prices are reasonable - a little on the high end but not very pricey. The wines taste great and the location is nicely tucked away in the hills around Paso.

Lisa K — Google review

Beautiful winery, enjoyed their wines, Zinfandel was very good but they don’t serve any food , which was disappointing. Our server had very casual appearance and attitude. They do allow outside food on their back patio , which we learnt on getting there . They customize the party’s name on the Menu , which was kind of cool . They also have Tesla charging station in the parking .

PS — Google review

Beautiful view, beautiful wine. It wasn't very crowded which was surprising as it was probably our favorite Paso winery. Our server was very nice and helpful. Only small complaint was they don't have any snacks to enjoy with the wine. At least have some crackers.

Ron P — Google review

My wife and I visited Adelaida on our second day in Paso. We had such an enjoyable experience here. The tasting room was beautiful and our server was warm and friendly. The wines are amazing and we signed up for the wine club immediately. We love the value for the quality of wine, and the fact that they offer free shipping makes the wine club even more appealing. We absolutely loved everything about the experience. Teresa did such a wonderful job sharing the history of the founders, the vineyard and the wines. We had never tried Adelaida before this trip, and are so happy that we did. The wines really are masterpieces. The zins, syrahs, cabs.. All amazing! We are back in the midwest, enjoying a beautiful bottle of the 2019 Cabernet received from our latest shipment. With so many vineyards to choose from, we are so happy to have visited Adelaida. You all are doing an amazing job and we are happy to be wineclub members.

After being a member for almost a decade, I show up to my reservation with my party of 16 for my husbands 40th bday. They have set up a tasting room for 12 of us and said that they have four had to be on the opposite side of the location and outside, no where near us. Obviously we didn't like that set up. The tasting room had two chairs set up that were not apart of the table but in the room, we asked if all of us can please be in the room, two people could sit in the chairs that were already in the room and the other two could stand or could we add two more chairs! And they said absolutely not. When we were booking, we did tell them we wanted to be together and they told us that wouldn't be an issue but it would be 12 and 4, but when we arrived we were hundreds of feet away from each other since. four people weren't drinking, one pregnant and 3 drivers, can we please stay in the room so we can still interact during the tasting or can we be seated else where so we can interacted, NOPE. The guy could care less to find a solution to keep us together, when I told him I'd want to cancel my membership then, he said no problem, I could do that for you with a smile on his face almost mocking me that they don't care at all about my business. We went to six wineries this weekend and spent over $3000 at every winery, not only did they miss the opportunity to make $3000 that day but they lost my membership annually indefinitely. Customer service is super important and there are too many wineries to treat my family and I like this on such an important celebration. Never again. So disappointed!!

We’ve been coming to Whalebone for six years, and we’ve been members of the wine club for nearly as long. It’s our favorite winery in Paso, and we recommend it to everyone! It feels like we’re visiting family whenever we’re there, the atmosphere can’t be beat.We love all of the wines, and have yet to have a bad glass. Their Zinfandel is always delicious (though the 2017 will forever be my favorite), and my husband can’t get enough of their reserve cab. If you love Reds, this is the winery for you! They occasionally offer a Rosé, and whenever they do, we end up buying a case. Always delicious!

Everything doesn't always work out the way it's supposed to in life, and it's when that happens you find out someone's true measure. We have been members of the Whalebone wine club for a couple of years, and all of the wines we have received have been excellent. Recently, we tried a Cabernet that just didn't taste very good. Something was definitely wrong with it. So, I called and spoke with a lady about it. After apologizing she offered to replace it or refund our money. I asked for a replacement. We just received the replacement. But instead of just ONE bottle, we got TWO. There is also a nice note telling us they are sorry the first one didn't work out and to have one on them. Who does that in this day and age? Someone who actually cares about their customers and who takes pride in producing a quality product. Customers for life here!

We had the opportunity to visit the Whalebone Vineyard in SEP_FY2019 and it was an amazing experience. We did a plant tour and tasted some wonderful wines. We don't know nowadays, but at that time the "2016 Cabernet Sauvignon PASO ROBLES" was perfect, especially due was a hot summer day.The land around the Whalebone Vineyard is remarkable, even a simple ride across the roads could be an unforgettable experience.Definitely, it's a place where we want back.

Whalebone has some fantastic wines! The Bob Wine is one of the staples at home. My wife and I enjoyed the afternoon sitting on the back patio looking down the canyon to the south. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. We stop by every time we visit Paso.

My favorite winery in Paso, not just for the quality of the wine but also because of how warm and inviting the winery itself is. Beautiful view, wonderful people, and lovely winery pets. Over the years I've been coming here I have never had a bad time, and always end up staying a little longer than I expected to!

Delightful family vineyard. Great staff and some sassy little wines! Their cabs are unique as well as their blends. And their new rosé... special. Just go. You won't be sorry!

Very cool vibe here at Whalebone, with a bulldog mascot that greets you to real whale bones scattered throughout the property this gem is a must. Bob the owner seems to be a retired doctor who lives on the property and makes wine now. There is Bob Wine, Bob Shirts, and Bob candles, who doesn’t love Bob? Nice staff and they got pink polos with whales boning on them - great gift

Great wine, great experience! Izzy is super cool, knows his wine and explains the wines well. Straightforward wines, very reasonable. Bentley the winery dog is quite the host! Very dog friendly.

One of my favorite wineries. I absolutely love visiting Whalebone. First off, it is a nice drive up Vineyard to get there. Lots of wildlife to be seen in the fields along the way like deer and lots of them, also saw some turkeys too, walking down the road. The wines here are really good. One of my favorites is Bob Wine. It is a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Syrah blend. They also have an interesting Rose made from Tempranillo which has very bright acidity along with a Granny Smith and Finger Lime taste to it.All in all a good place to visit.

One of the most fun wine tastings we’ve had. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Good wines. Relaxed atmosphere. Not at all pretentious. Very nice outside area for the tasting in addition to the bar inside. Olive oil tastings available also.

Whalebone is a great small winery. We were fortunate to get a reservation on short notice (thank you!!). The winery offers a very chill and relaxed environment, almost to the point you forget you're at a winery. While you are still educated on the wine, all pretentiousness is eliminated. They do it right in terms of appealing to all wine drinkers, especially those who may be new to the world of wine. Our tasting menu offered seven options, at $15/per person, and all were easy drinking. We ended up selecting two bottles, but know it was a struggle to only pick two! The labels are also untraditional of most wineries - think bold, fun, super colorful.I highly recommend a visit to Whalebone during your trip.

Whalebone was my favorite winery stop in Paso Robles. It was so homey and welcoming. Sometimes wineries can feel a little too fancy or pretentious for me, but Whalebone made me feel right at home. They had really knowledgeable staff, fantastic wines and the bonus was the bulldog and cat roaming around the property. Wonderful experience, would definitely recommend !

Lovely boutique winery nestled atop a hill in Paso Robles! The wines we tasted were all really good. But my favorite were the B.O.B. and the reserve Cab. Izzy was a great host/server. He was great and describing the wines and times the pourings well! The mascot Bentley was awesome and entertained our toddler!

TRUCKERS. Getting to this place is pretty easy but either way u coming in a 53’ trailer its going to be some tight windy roads so be smooth, attached is the way i came in and there is also a sign directing trucks. Really small but nice winery people there were very nice offloading process was maybe an hour
